Booty or No Booty is an ocean-wide event with spectactular prizes hosted by Piplicus, Known as host in the rules, and Nobooty at the event). The name and the objective of the event is based on the show Deal or No Deal. In order to make this event as fun as it possibly can be and have it run smoothly, there will be some rules each pirate must follow.

Simple rules to follow

The following is a list of things that are mandatory to follow if you want to be able to attend Booty or No Booty (BoNB):

  • Do not spam - This means do not repeat the same phrase 2 or more times. Spamming is not only annoying, but can also make your fellow pirates lag.
  • Do not swear - Even with the filter, you will get banned from BoNB and possibly banned from Puzzle Pirates.
  • Do not disturb or harass other pirates - This includes randomly jobbing, heartying, trading, or challenging pirates. That's what the inn is for.
  • Do not fake bid - You will automatically be banned if you dare fake bid. Even if you decide that you want to keep what you bid and changed your mind, you will be shamed, frowned upon, and banned from the event. If you make a bid, you can't take it back.
  • Do not walk onto the stage - Sometimes it is a honest mistake, sometimes it isn't. Most of the time it is taken lightly but please leave the stage if you accidently go on it. You can leave by clicking the trinket case located somewhere on the outside of the stage.
  • No 1444 talk - Do not try to get a date at BoNB. An example of 1444 talk: "Press 1444 if you want to be my boyfriend!"
  • No slang - Most of us know English as our first language. Therefore, it confuses others that are trying to grasp the language when we use slang. An example of slang: "u no im da best of da best and i gonnaa get da goldn tiket"
  • Do not bother NoBooty - He is trying to direct the show; he does not have time for a random /tell.
  • Use house chat - It is preferred over /speak.
  • Don't pester NoBooty with questions - there is a FAQ in the house news. This also has a FAQ near the bottom (go to the top of the table and click FAQ). Figure it out yourself, and if you cannot for some reason, try asking your fellow spectators.
  • Try to keep a positive attitude and stay away from the sarcastic remarks- They tend to ruin some of the fun for others, and since this whole events goal is to have fun, it would be a horrible thing if a pirate deprived someone of that.

Booty or No Booty Procedure

Before the Game Begins

Every Saturday, Booty or No booty is held on a different ocean (check the forums to see if your ocean is next). Do not worry if you did not check the forums. About an hour before the game starts, an OM (oceanmaster) will announce that Booty or No Booty will begin in one hour. People are allowed to come beforehand. The location of each game is as follows:

Each game will be held at Ajax's estate, with the exception of Hunter where it will be be at Ajax's villa. You do not have to knock to come in. Most likely No Booty will already be there. Coming in early can result in numerous prizes. For example, he might give away an answer for a future surPRIZE or even a golden ticket. Most of golden tickets are handed out beforehand in tournaments and events.

Choosing the Lucky Contestant

Just because you are one of the lucky few to win a golden ticket does not mean you get a guaranteed spot in the hotseat. At the beginning of the show, No Booty will ask for golden tickets. If you have a golden ticket, you may trade with him (NOTE that he will only accept golden tickets with your name or no one else's name on it). If you do not have a golden ticket, you are a spectator for the duration of the game. However, spectators still have a chance at winning prizes (see surPRIZES below) or bidding for a chance at the hotseat, as the spectators are the bank in this game. After the max amount of golden tickets are given in (15), those who submitted their golden ticket will be invited onto an isolated spot in the garden. They are then given a present to keep. The present can contain the following:

Contents Meaning What to do
Bandana You didn't win the chance to be in the hot seat Nothing
Bid ticket You didn't win the chance to be in the hot seat Nothing
Greeting card If it says to shout 'BOOTY', you will be in the hot seat Wait until Nobooty asks for you to /shout 'BOOTY!'
If it says that you've won a refund; your golden ticket is refunded Wait until Nobooty asks for you to /shout 'NO BOOTY!' and then wait until Nobooty trade requests you for the card in exchange for another golden ticket.
Other gift You haven't won, but you won a consolation prize! It depends. Listen to what Nobooty says.

Let the Games Begin!

The prizes. Tan Banana being the worst, Familiar being the best.

The contestant who won will introduce themselves. After that, the contestant is asked to pick one box. That box is most likely to be the box they end up with. After the first box is chosen, boxes are eliminated in rounds. In the 1st round, 5 boxes are eliminated, with the contents and the box itself being permanently removed from that game. All rounds after that eliminate 3 boxes until there are only two boxes left. After each round of eliminating is done, bidding will take place.

Here are the prizes in the 22 boxes in order from worst to best (going down the first column and then down the second):

Bidding

First Wave of Bidding

As mentioned before, the audience is the bank in hopes to buy themselves into the hotseat. After all the boxes are eliminated for that round, No Booty will ask everyone to send a /tell in the next minute for a bid they would be willing to pay in PoE ONLY! Average high bids range from 90,000 PoE to 250,000 PoE. Anything under 20,000 PoE usually doesn't stand a chance.

Second Wave of Bidding

After No Booty asks to stop sending /tells for the first wave, the second wave will begin. However, this time you must /tell him over a certain amount and you /pay him if it's over an even higher amount. If you pay and it is lower than that amount, then Nobooty has the right to keep that PoE! For example, if NoBooty announced to send a /tell if you want to bid over 90,000 PoE and to /pay him if you want to bid over 130,000 PoE and you only pay 95,000 PoE, he might keep it since you didn't follow directions. Although, NoBooty is very considerate and will often give a second chance if it is a large amount of PoE such as that. After about a minute, No Booty stops and announces the highest bid to the pirate in the hot seat. She/he can either reject by saying "No booty" or accept by saying "Booty". If she/he accepts, the person who bid the highest pays No Booty, sends the PoE (Pieces of Eight) to the person occupying the hot seat, and then the bidder and the one who occupied the hot seat switch places. If she/he rejects, the game continues on as normal and all PoE is returned to the bidders.

SurPRIZES

SurPRIZES are special gifts that the audience can win. They usually take place after the second wave of bidding is completed, which is inbetween rounds. To win a surPRIZE, one must answer No Booty's random question correctly and be the X (x is the number he puts in, for example 10th) person to answer the question. They then get to pick a colored box with no name and usually are able to keep it. However, some times there are twists. Prizes can be anything besides a familiar, but most are trinklets, good swords, etc. There are some rare prizes.

Switcheroo and Box Revealed

When only two boxes remain, the pirate currently in the hot seat is asked to open one of the two mysterious boxes. One does nothing, which makes the initial box chosen be the box they keep, while the other gives them the chance of switching the initial box with the box not yet eliminated. After the pirate decides, she/he is revealed his/her prize. Booty and No Booty is finally concluded.
