I'm still learning this Wiki stuff.

I'm a big fan of Forum fads and in-jokes, I think I've put in a lot of good-quality edits there, despite having only joined the game in May 2004.

Tailor Puzzle Idea

Using this as a scratch pad for a tailoring puzzle idea

Needles - different speeds fast/medium/slow. Maybe even more speeds, maybe 5 or 10 possible speeds Threads - different colours/thickness/patterns red/yellow/blue/green or more. Patterns & thickness better for colour-blind. Boards - different shapes, nodes along the edges Some nodes become inputs, some become outputs. - Multiple inputs, multiple outputs match colours Plot paths, set needle speeds When two points are connected, the nodes turn that colour. Needles travel from outputs to inputs. Outputs become inputs and the nodes change colour.

Scoring: length of thread used (encourages paths across the board), adjacent nodes in the same colours, number of points used - User plots paths and decides how long to advance (e.g. 1 time unit, 5 time units, 10 time units). More points are scored for better planning, being able to sew continuously for longer time units without a mistake. Every time the action stops, the nodes may change colour/positions. 1 time unit could be 1 connection. Advanced users might plot 2-5 steps at a time for each thread, advancing things faster. - needle collision or a needle running out of thread stops the action, costs a penalty - eventually your spool of thread runs out, the first coloured node can go uncoloured. Forces you to use multiple spools/different colours. - connecting to an uncoloured node is allowed, but is a score penalty - connecting to a coloured node is not allowed

Game ends when enough of the nodes are covered (maybe 75%)

Other additions: use of a thimble as insurance against mistakes. Choose to fill your thimble meter, maybe sacrifice a spool (very rough idea) - complete board bonus?
