The Zadd Theory of Jobbing (tZToJ) states that jobbers take 3.2 to 4.3 seconds to decide if they are going to commit the time to work on a ship and earn PoE.

Reasons for leaving

There are many reasons for a jobber leaving a ship very quickly. Here are a few:

Attitude of Commanding Officer(s)

When a jobber comes on a ship a greeting eases the mood and sends a message to the jobber that they are wanted. Jobbers also like choice in where they proceed to work. If the Commanding Officer proceeds to tell them where they are working immediately with no greeting it sends a message that they are just seen as drones being used to make POE for the commanding Officer. As such, a negative greeting, or no greeting at all, makes the Jobber feel lost on what they are suppose to be doing.

Number of People on Board

When the jobber first get on the ship they see the number of people working. SOme Jobbers won't mind large crowds. However, a Jobber might go to a smaller ship to earn a higher ratio of POE than they would on a bigger ship.

Ship

A Jobber might have thought the ship he/she is on was a different one. Only greenies would usually make this assumption or mistake, veteran players know what ship is witch, etc

Color/Design of Ship

A dumb reason to leave a ship, but sometimes this is the case for leaving. If the Jobber is on a ship with a paint job to a color they dislike they might find it annoying enough to leave.

Curiosity

A Jobber (most likely a Greenie) might just want to look at a ship for the fun of it and not even think about working.

These, amonst others im sure, are some reasons Jobbers leave ships. Be sure to greet your Jobbers on arrival. Happy Hunting!
