Template talk:Portrait section sandbox

I've got this ready to integrate to the main template, though I'm gonna leave this for a bit in case anyone wants to comment on the wording of the framed portrait version. two fields sometimes? or three fields always?

The usage notes should be updated to specify for framed portraits if the PirateName is to be BLANK/NULL (an empty cell, but still a cell, thus still having a pipe separator) or if it is to be DELETED/REMOVED (i.e. just TWO fields in these cases). The framed portrait version would look like {{portrait section|Cerulean|5657629}} (for the framed portrait I linked in the thread talking about this). The ifdef/ifndef templates used check for whether or not the third parameter is defined. I have not rewritten the Usage section as I am not sure as to the best wording for it. Since this is a sandbox template, we can adjust it until we have a version that is satisfactory without causing the wiki software to need to update a ton of image tags. As for the template parameters themselves, I don't want to make it more complicated than it is already, as I can't see this being used for framed portraits all that often. --Thunderbird 02:51, 25 July 2013 (PDT)
