Talk:Toji

From YPPedia

Neutral towards deletion but require clarification of guidelines. There is a pirate in-game called Toji. Would it be acceptable to state on a page for that pirate that they're named for or share a name with the Toji from a fanart series (comic)? -- Faulkston 11:09, 8 December 2006 (PST)

Pages for alternate pirate policy

Alternate pirates are generally not supposed to have separate pages. Is there an exception covering this page given the existence of Toji as a character in a fan art series? -- Faulkston 09:31, 10 December 2006 (PST)

Because there was a page made pertaining to one of my pirates. I felt it was best to edit the information as it's relivance on Midnight. The fact that there is a character in a fanart series is irrelevant and noted for clarification. If entry is however percived as redundant, then information can be posted to Obaba's page and this one deleted. -- Obaba 01:47, 10 December 2006 (CST)
I'm aware that you didn't start this article but am wondering what the YPPedia editors would prefer. I disagree however that the fact that there's a character in a fanart series with the same name is irrelevant, as it is an interesting detail for roleplaying at the very least. -- Faulkston 12:00, 10 December 2006 (PST)

Merger Vote

  • Oppose merger, as I would consider Toji to be an event character, and the precedent there is that they get pages. (See: Agon, Ajax, Tuxedo, Fava, Avernus...) --Ponytailguy 13:53, 10 December 2006 (PST)
Event character is an interesting perspective I would not have dreamed of. In that case certainly there is no need for merging. So rather than describe in the article that the pirate is (solely) an alt, also state they are also an event character? I'm thinking ahead to if/when people point out perceived inconsistencies in alt page policy. Toji's page does contain a lot more information than some one-line alt pages I've seen. I propose to withdraw the merge notice. -- Faulkston 15:53, 10 December 2006 (PST)
