Talk:Sunglasses

From YPPedia

Plural/Singular

Putting this here to avoid chiming in on Fannon's talk page and turning it into a sprawling, multi-person discussion...

I think the issue is that sunglasses aren't Sunglasses (plural) but rather A Trinket (singular) that happens to be called sunglasses. I agree that in the context that's used in-game and on trinket pages (where trinkets tend to be trinkets in and of themselves, more than the items they are designed to represent) it reads better as singular. --Ladodal 23:27, 23 July 2012 (PDT)

This. All of the other plural named trinkets I checked earlier also use the format "The blahblah is". --Fannon 23:30, 23 July 2012 (PDT)

(Edit: Fannon was writing her reply while I was writing mine...) I agree with everything that you wrote; however, my inner OCD is still screaming at me.  ;-) Perhaps we could re-word the intro sentence to make this more clear? For ex.: "The sunglasses trinket is a trinket..." Thanks. -- Franklincain (t/c) 23:33, 23 July 2012 (PDT)

(Not quite edit: And then you posted that while I was typing mine. Clearly, none of us have lives. XD) Not opposed to general rewording, if someone feels like doing that... but please don't actually phrase it "The [blank] trinket is a trinket," I think we'd be getting a call from the black-suited men in black from the department of redundancy department. I hate those guys.  ;) --Ladodal 23:38, 23 July 2012 (PDT)
I was going to make a comment about the land of redundancy, but I think Lado's joke is better. --Fannon 23:39, 23 July 2012 (PDT)
And as I try to be a gentleman, it would certainly behoove me to pay attention to not just one, but two ladies offering the same advice.  :-D   Thanks, all, and good night. -- Franklincain (t/c) 23:47, 23 July 2012 (PDT)
