Possibly a vanity page, definitely needs third person rewrite. Does the wiki really concern with this level of detail? --Demonyaj 13:38, 25 October 2005 (PDT)

No, not really. A good pirate article would be on the order of Scupperer or Attesmythe, not like this. I'm tempted to just chuck the whole thing until a clear and concise article can be written.--Fiddler 13:57, 25 October 2005 (PDT)
I agree. It's an encyclopedia format, not livejournal fiction writing for pirates. :) --Guppymomma 15:07, 25 October 2005 (PDT)
I've left a note on Seadogjoe's talk page explaining the situation. I'd like to give him a day, and then wipe this article back to something small. --Barrister 15:43, 25 October 2005 (PDT)

The general content is better than it was, but the formatting is nearly unreadable. There's numerous spelling errors, and the whole thing is a single paragraph. Seadogjoe, I'm not trying to pick on you. Writing a good article is hard. But this one still needs some work. --Barrister 23:32, 6 November 2005 (PST)

There are still numerous spelling errors in this page, so I've restored the {{cleanup}} tag. --Barrister 10:37, 19 November 2005 (PST)
I'm sorry, but I still can see some spelling mistakes on this page. Try copying and pasting it into a word processing program and running a spellcheck. --Nickster (t/c) 12:12, 20 November 2005 (PST)
I'm sorry, but I still agree with the initial thread. This is a vanity page, there's no need for this level of detail (various promotions? aspirations? values?) except perhaps on User:Seadogjoe, if that's actually the same person. — Callistan (talk/contrib) 06:44, 23 November 2005 (PST)

Whats to be done?

Not sure how to de-blockify text and what that means. What exactly should I do to "de-blockify text?" I am not sure if I know what that means. Can you give me some pointers so that I know how to fix my article up?

There are still various spelling mistakes in the article. As suggested earlier, try to spell check using a word processor. Try also to read through your article carefully - check that it flows nicely. In addition, there are various parts of your article which are slightly unencyclopedic. Thanks for your contributions! --Nicksterv 06:00, 2 July 2006 (PDT)

Okay, I did what you said and fixed all the spelling mistakes that microsoft word could point out. What else about the artical is un-encyclopedic? I have outlined a basic list of the events in this pirates lifetime. I could fill 4-5 pages worth of history day by day but I know that would be considered vanity. I am kinda stumped at this point what else there is to do. Look at Macgreggor's article, its longer than mine and rather explantitory on the facts of his life. Maybe I am still not understanding somthing here, can anyone give me a pointer as to some things that are un-encyclopedic?

The cleanup tag looks like it was put in to request that it be formatted so it's not just a gigantic paragraph and it looks like you've done that to me. I'll zap the tag. I someone has further comments about improving the article, they can comment here. (Also, to sign your comments you can click on that second to the last button above the edit window that looks like a squiggly line and it'll add --~~~~ which the wiki will automatically change into your name & the date when you hit save.) --Guppymomma 07:07, 11 July 2006 (PDT)
