No. That's for the list of contributors from the wikicities sight site. Your contribution here has already been recoreded by the Mediawiki software.--Fiddler 11:34, 6 August 2005 (PDT)

Charting for others

There are other ways to chart for others than trading ship deeds. For example, if you're Captain or Senior Officer but don't hold the deed to an unlocked crew vessel on which you want to chart a course, simply find a person who can chart it, invite that person into your crew, and promote him/her to Officer. Then he/she can chart for you. Once that is done, you can expel that person from your crew. :p

The Monster Mishmash Release allows anyone with pirate badge or higher or subscription to chart with out change crew by means of an order. --Hensow 22:13, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

recently modified feature

Was that put up for turning off greeter/swabbie transport memorization ? If so, I guess we can remove the reminder by now. --Alfwyn 07:37, 13 February 2008 (PST)

Also for Atlantis non-memorization, I believe. Removed. --Barrister 09:29, 13 February 2008 (PST)

Non-memming on an SMH chart

I memorised half of Tinga-Orca whilst navigating to CI and back. I know it was this as I only memorised 6 leagues to the LP and back. I have never held the Tinga-Orca interarch chart because I never pillage to win it. This would have been earlier this year. Has the game been updated? Airion 03:18, 2 August 2011 (PDT)

It is possible that the article is wrong. That section is based on forum discussion such as here where some people insisted that SMH maps have a "special property" that prevents memming. Personally that doesn't sound like something that would have been written into the code. Can you attempt to repeat this, or post your experiences on the forum for discussion? It might be worth looking into again. Chupchup 14:02, 2 August 2011 (PDT)
I'm trying to repeat it with a chart I have off of Heph. It follows 3 leagues on the interarch route (same as the Tinga-Orca chart) and I've been navigating there and back. I would expect to see results today. I can understand why you would be unable to mem any point that took you off of a known route, but it makes no sense that you cannot mem known routes along the way. I've also noticed I've memmed one league off of Lynx, which could also have only come from a CI chart. Will update tomorrow about the Heph-Spring route. Airion 00:40, 5 August 2011 (PDT)

Minimum of 2 passes to memorize league points?

Has anyone ever gotten a league point in 2 passes? I've never seen points turn brown with less than 4. And this is regularly doing Excellent/Incredible navigation (though I'm not sure if that has any actual affect). --Thunderbird 00:54, 13 February 2012 (PST)

I have done it in 3 passes for sure (all increds), and although I'm pretty sure I've done it in 2, I can't guarantee it. And since I'm currently slacking in memming Emerald, maybe I'll get back to it.... Jlh0605 09:09, 14 February 2012 (PST)
Pegasiswolf swore to me that she had some memmed in two passes. It has been my recent experience that it takes me 4-6 passes to go from none memmed to all memmed on a given route. I will be memming all of Hunter, so as I go I will take notes on how many passes it takes. Stay tuned. Chupchup 13:35, 14 February 2012 (PST)
I'm in the "pretty sure I've done it in two" position as well, so I'm busy re-testing. Waiting until I reach a route I'm certain I haven't done yet. --Belthazar451 13:49, 14 February 2012 (PST)
Ok, I've managed a league point in three. Haven't done two yet, and nor has it taken more than six. I'm vaguely wondering if there's some sort of normal probability distribution going on here - there's a tiny, but non-zero, chance of doing it in two, which increases to a mean/mode of five, then decreases back to a tiny probability of eight. Or something. --Belthazar451 03:27, 17 February 2012 (PST)
I adjusted the article to mention that 4-6 is the typical need, with the extremes noted. That said, since there doesn't seem to be solid evidence that leagues can be done in two passes, I put the absolute minimum as 3. --Thunderbird 23:02, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
Looks like I may have managed to get a point in two passes, when doing Ambush-Mirage-Albatross (bypassing Mirage after the first pass), one point turned brown after 2 passes, three more turned brown after the third pass, and all but two turned brown on the fourth pass. I doubt that I had done this route before, as in my experience, most points tend to turn brown on the fourth pass, with only a few on each route needing more than that. Open to interpretation of course. --Thunderbird 19:16, 12 May 2012 (PDT)

Memorizing with the Navy

For some reason I thought that the ability to mem with the Navy had been disabled? Am I just conflating Navy with Swabby transport?

You are indeed confusing the navy with swabbie transport. Patgangster (talk) 13:06, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
