Labor rates image

Perhaps it would be a good idea to use an image with more normal labor rates. The only time I've seen 60 for expert was one of those sneaky places that never planned to use expert labor.--Kaet 18:16, 14 October 2005 (PDT)

Shoppes with order queue

The wiki page states "A handy way to find a shop that actually has jobs in the order queue, is to do the appropriate mission, this will always take you to a shop with work". This is not true. Even shoppes without a job queue sometimes end up on the Notice Board.

Perhaps the wiki is just worded strangely, because it is true that if you take the mission to use labor at someone's stall, then there will always be something to work on. For example, if you play on a doubloon ocean and have a labor badge, then on the mission board, there should be a mission that has the title of "Work at Blacksmithing" and then the description will be "'Someone's Ironworking Stall' will pay you for helping work on their orders." If you accept this mission, you are guaranteed to have something to work on. However, if you go to the Notice Board and click on the "Shoppe Jobs" tab, then those offerings are not guaranteed to have orders in the queue. You may have confused what was described in the wiki with the "Shoppe Jobs" tab. --Yehj 09:12, 24 February 2008 (CST)

Opinion in this article

The last two edits by User:Death 2 rory left a bit to be desired. Perhaps they should be broken out into a new article on finding a shoppe job. I've tagged one section as "opinion" for now. Chupchup 16:02, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

article out of date

this article is out of date. Problems include:

  • labor is no longer distributed evenly over all pirates on an account, unused labor can be used by other pirates
  • there are still some references to sub accounts only having 24 labor hours per day
  • labor does not go to the highest paid job a pirate has. in particular, labor will go to stores with orders in the queue. I've heard that labor will go to stores with wages of 1/1/500 over 20/30/60, even if you are working on basic labor and can't even provide expert.
  • I'm not certain how "advance" hours work, or if you can actually use up 3 days of advance labor anymore.
  • This article doesn't seem to have been updated for reserve labor and, for example, the corset example is no longer realistic

I suspect there are other problems, but many of these problems require actual testing, which I'm far too lazy to do. Indeed, I'm too lazy to see if there is a template that says "this article is out of date". Wrs1864b 15:39, 2 March 2015 (PST)

Permanent Labor Badges

It's probably worth noting somewhere that the Permanent Labor Badge given by the Eminent Explorer Pack changes up the economics of wages "considerably." $50 for an unlimited wage slave that you never need to worry about refreshing badges again seems like a great deal for people who use alts for their Shoppe labor.
