Talk:Imperio

From YPPedia

The Imperio banner is 416x600. Isn't that just a little over-the-top? --11:03, 31 October 2005 (PST)

I was told on my user talk page not to worry about image sizes. I'm pretty sure that it applies here as well.--Zyborg22 15:39, 31 October 2005 (PST)
That's as in byte size. Barrister is talking about dimensions of the image shown on an article. I agree that it shouldn't be 416x600 as this isn't a flag website. If you look in the encyclopedia, generally images such as the US flag aren't so large that they go across the entire top of a page. --Guppymomma 15:45, 31 October 2005 (PST)

Deletion of History

Parthanos, you've got to stop attempting to delete the section on Avalon's formation in the history section. It's an entirely valid part of your history. I wrote it in what I considered to be a neutral light, that didn't condemn you or Avalon. Everyone who remembers that time is aware that it isn't a particulary pleasant memory for you, but trying to withold historical information from a resource such as this isn't entirely appropriate. Flag pages are supposed to be information hot spots primarily, rather than advertisements. Featherfin 06:05, 24 December 2005 (PST)

Uh, this was dealt with five weeks ago. Why are you bringing it up now? --Barrister 12:04, 24 December 2005 (PST)
I didn't see the latest deletion until today. Featherfin 14:39, 24 December 2005 (PST)
Speaking of bringing things up, I see that Parth has blanked it again. I'm going to roll it back. If it's blanked again, we'll rollback & protect it until discussion takes place here to resolve the issue. --Guppymomma 16:02, 2 January 2006 (PST)

I have left Parthanos a stern warning on User talk:Parthanos. Another offense, and we'll block him. We have better things to do than rollback his deletions. What he's doing isn't even an edit war. It's just vandalism. --Barrister 00:19, 3 January 2006 (PST)

NPOV Stamp

No one replied months ago when I said it should be tagged, so I just did it. I don't think I have the "skills" to rewrite it, but any objective spectator could see the failure to be neutral by comparing the language used in the history to the language used in the history of flags like Silver Dawn. Funnybones 13:27, 11 March 2006 (PST)

To clarify my confusion, do you think the language is positive or negative in regards to Imperio, and could you give an example re: Silver Dawn? --Featherfin 13:49, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Edit: I changed my mind again. I don't think there is anything wrong with the history. The article needs a {{third person}} tag I think. --Sagacious 14:00, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Just so we're all aware, the first and third paragraphs in the history section were written by Parthanos; the second by Featherfin. Re: paragraphs one & three - I think they're alright (they're not too promotional), but I wouldn't lose sleep if they were re-written a bit either.--Fiddler 14:00, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Well, I asked because I wanted to know if Robinson (Funnybones) thought I was too nice in the second paragraph about Imperio, as if my memory serves correctly, he isn't a fan of the Avalon-Imperio conflict. When I wrote the part about the Avalon split, I wrote it a tad more positively than I'd explain it to anyone ingame, in the hopes that Parth wouldn't go nuts. However, that didn't work out. I personally think the entire section could use a rewrite, my parts included to make it less "glorious Imperio" and more YPPedia style. Can Parth edit this page? I'm hesitant to start messing with it for fears of starting an edit war yet again. --Featherfin 17:22, 11 March 2006 (PST)
If Parthanos is not able to edit, I might be able to, if I can verify info. It might take a while, given that I have work and school, but I'll do what I can. --Gloraelin 17:29, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Uhm, nobody has ever blocked Parthanos' user account from editing. The only thing that was done was to temporarily protect the article from edits while things were resolved in discussion. Edit: Actually I just checked the protection logs, this article has never even been protected. --Guppymomma 17:30, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Guppy, I didn't mean unable as in blocked, I meant unable as in no time. That's all. Sorry for the confusion - I should have clarified that earlier. --Gloraelin 18:36, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Heh, no no, I'm not freaked out. I just wanted to make sure it's clear what has or hasn't been done here with all the HWFO that's being going on about wiki bits these days. Please carry on as usual! --Guppymomma 18:40, 11 March 2006 (PST)
No, your paragraph is excellent, and I figured it had been made specifically neutral after that thread. The paragraphs appearantly written by Parthanos are rather different. Things like "continues to strive for the ideals of truth, honor and fair play" are very biased and "continues to be a leading and dominant force in Midnight and beyond" is biased when compared with my example Silver Dawn's "continues to be one of the most populous flags on Midnight." Funnybones 17:45, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Right, cool. I'm going to have a bash at rewriting it a bit. And the second paragraph was written before all that forum crap. :) He seemed to dislike it, even though it's quite positive about the fact that his flag fell apart. --Featherfin 03:44, 12 March 2006 (PST)
Re-written it a bit, mentioned the Crimperio alliance. I think the NPOV isn't really an issue now. --Featherfin 03:57, 12 March 2006 (PST)
I concur wholeheartedly and will take the notice down, since I'm the objector. Thanks much. Funnybones 17:37, 12 March 2006 (PST)

March Madness

Yourt history still remains vague and incorrect. If you want to consult with me on our history, I suggest contacting me via the ypp forums or Imperio's forums, i rarely check this place, and I seem to lack some ability to edit.

The changes I did make are more reflective of the true history.

Second edit- I dont know a better way to add to this than what I posted tonight. Feel free to look at it and make changes ye see fit, given the information here is not an official representation of Imperio, but a reflection of who ever is interperting the information. That said, I think at least the changes give a bit more detail and back story.

I think it would make the most sense if we allowed Gloraelin the chance to do the flag history as she suggested as the editing and re-editing doesn't seem to have stopped yet. I think Imperio as a whole would prefer someone like Gloraelin doing our history as well. Instead of someone we feel doesn't know us every well. That way we can all discuss it with her and she can make it as Impartial as possible. That is if Gloraelin is still willing to re-write it? - Jesst

I've just rewritten it. As someone who was not part of either Imperio or Avalon but was highly aware of Midnight politics at the time, I think I've managed to maintain a sense of impartiality. (Blowing my own horn a bit, aren't I?) --Featherfin 05:54, 22 March 2006 (PST)

At this point I'd again ask for this to simply be removed. I really don't like SD's version of our history any more than you like ours;)

Parthanos, please sign your messages using --~~~~. There's even a button for you to do it automatically. Further, when you edit the Imperio page, please use third-person language, as you'd find in an encyclopedia. If you wish to comment on the text, this page is the appropriate place to do so. Finally, stop asking for this page to be deleted. It will never happen and your request has already been rejected by the YPPedia admins and the Ringers. --Barrister 13:10, 22 March 2006 (PST)

I am not in SD. --Featherfin 14:06, 22 March 2006 (PST)

And hooray for official intervention, --Featherfin 23:38, 22 March 2006 (PST)

Thanks Nemo:) This is much better.

Yup this is much better thanks Nemo--Jesst

Black Moon crew link

Link for the Black Moon crew goes to a sage flag with the same name. Any way to fix this. I'll be doing some updates shortly once I've played in the sandbox as to not mess thing up to badly.

Imperio in Latin

It means I order, just an fyi. Not any of the dirvatives listed. Lionflare 18:07, 19 March 2008 (PDT)
