Talk:Collision mechanics
From YPPedia
Ahoy! Good work so far, but you're missing an entire category of collisions: when tides and winds move one ship into another. For example, just this week, I was in a sloop facing the direction of travel for some wind. At the end of the wind, a sloop was broadside to me. I let the wind carry me down without using movement tokens. My sloop pushed him one space away. I don't fully understand these mechanics, but I think this has some differences than token-only collisions. --Barrister 12:21, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- Working on adding it now. --C squared01 06:12, 23 February 2007 (PST)
Damage
In my experience, the damage meter goes up the same amount on both ships, however the SF damage is affected according to the Ship#Ram_Damage section. -- Thefirstdude 14:42, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- You may actually be correct -- I did it again but grappled, and the sloop had 6 blocks of damage while the MBrig had 1. I've removed the strong implication that things need more research. --C squared01 06:12, 23 February 2007 (PST)
- After further consideration, I realized my "damage" content, although it came with a really pretty image, was not really encyclopedic at all, and I removed it. --C squared01 10:55, 23 February 2007 (PST)
Moving page?
Where do you want this page moved to now? Ram page, or a new page? --Whitemonkey (t/c) 03:39, 2 March 2007 (PST)
- I think we're all set, but everyone can feel free to do with this article as they please now. I no longer consider it to be "mine." :P --C squared01 20:08, 2 March 2007 (PST)
