Talk:Carpentry tutorial

From YPPedia

This page needs some formatting help and perhaps a wee bit of cleanup. --Guppymomma 21:24, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

I finally figured out how to center a table properly and cleaned up the tip boxes as well as some type/grammer mistakes. I'm interested in replacing the entry for Carpentry with this tutorial. It contains all the information from the original and has some greately expanded areas for strategy. --Kgarrett1969 10:32, 31 August 2006 (PDT)

This entry would need to be reformatted and reorganized before it could replace the carpentry article. The main article for carpentry should begin with the basic controls for the puzzle. Strategy should be further down. This article requires me to page down 5 times before I get to the control keys. --Barrister 02:12, 1 September 2006 (PDT)
There is also a discussion at Talk:Carpentry about using Carpentry tutorial to replace that article. I left my thoughts at the other talk page. --AtteSmythe 09:35, 1 September 2006 (PDT)

I suggest that this shape should be added to the tutorial for its ability to use: LP, NY, and PU.

You are correct. As soon as I get a screenie of the hole I'll include it in the tutorial. --Kgarrett1969 10:32, 31 August 2006 (PDT)

You state that you can only get 16 successive masterpieces, when you can get at least 17. --Hydranoisp 12:29, 25 September 2006 (PDT)

Tips tables

I actually agree with the previous edit that undid the italics. It is extremely difficult to read the font at that small of a size in italics on my monitor. At the very least, I'd suggest switching the font size to 90-95% to try and make it easier to read if not deitalicizing it. The other option for making the tips stand out would be to use a color other than grey as the table background. I'll see if I have time to look through the tutorial this weekend, sorry it's taken me so long. --Guppymomma 07:55, 1 November 2006 (PST)

The Ship shape

The Ship: This hole can be completed PP, FV and NT

Should this say YV? No matter how I mentally contort, I don't see an FV fitting in this shape. --Maxxen 21:25, 5 December 2006 (PST)

4x6?

In the "Master Carpenter" tip under "Nice Set Bonus," you mention using P's to complete a 4x6 hole. A 4x6 hole would have 24 pieces, and be impossible to fill perfectly. Did ye mean 5x6?

Changing it to reflect 5x6, but be sure to change it back if I'm wrong, or if ye meant something else.
