Mouse on the Loom was a left-facing, upgraded weavery shoppe on Beta Island. It was erected in April 2005 as a reward for the war brig race of the February 2005 One Million PoE Beta Blast! event held by the then governing flag, Water Sleeps. Mouse on the Loom continues the basic Beta Island naming scheme of science fiction related media. The shop name is a play on words of The Mouse on the Moon, which is a novel by Irish author Leonard Wibberley. It was released in 1962 as the sequel to The Mouse That Roared.
