Disconnect

Disconnect is a term for what happens when a player loses the connection to the server in one of various ways (outright connection dropping, or client crashing). Players who are disconnected have a broken wire symbol above their head. When a player disconnects, all of the players in the current scene are notified. If a player on a ship disconnects, only those in the same area are notified, not the entire ship. Players who are puzzling are removed from their puzzles upon disconnection. Upon reconnection, any jobbing invite that was received but not answered will reappear. Players who do not reconnect after 10 minutes will be logged off.

If you attempt to send a disconnected pirate a tell you will be told that you cannot because the pirate has been disconnected for X minutes.
