Btza
Btza sails the Cobalt Ocean. He is a fleet officer in Shrew Crew of the flag Forever Untamed.
Btza joined Puzzle Pirates in November 2007 and quickly subscribed to gain access to better swords. After getting his stats up a bit and jobbing around he found the very fun Shrew Crew. He was promoted to officer and, after some training at the hands of co-captains Vampyone and Hung, became fleet officer in December 2007. He was promoted to senior officer in July 2008.
His fortes are Carpentry and Battle Navigation, but he has a standing of at least renowned in all stations. He enjoys hunting for skellies and zombies, so much so that he has been known to take on 30 or 40 skellies on his own (sadly to date, unsuccessfully).
In December 2007 he started developing an open source, multi platform program to aid in running pillages: YPPPP.
He owns a villa on Fintan Island (Cobalt), which he's sharing with Sammyjean.
Recent developments in Btza's piratey life include the purchase of a ship wright stall on Garden Cradle in the Onyx archipelago. So far, the enterprise has been moderately successful, even with the addition of Sammyjean as manager, who seems to be worse than useless at the job and may actually be stealing the profits to spend on sexy outfits.
These days, if not ship wrighting, Btza can usually be found pillaging. He favours interarch routes, particularly, TLM to DN. Having mastered the sloop pillage, he is now trying out different ships of all shapes and sizes. Both war brig and baghlah pillages have been undertaken and have proven to be easily within his capabilities.
A new interest and challenge for Btza has been to mount BK (Brigand King) hunts. These hunts were at first instigated by Sammy, who felt the pressing need to get some new trinkets to hold in her never-ending procession of portraits. Since Sammy couldn't do this on her own, she talked Btza into taking her out (the poor boy never could say no to Sammy), with surprising levels of success. In fact, these hunts are quickly becoming popular within the Shrew Crew and crew mates often enquire when the next one is to be held and donate fruit to be used as BK bait. There is no doubt that it won't take long before Btza has every BK trinket there is to win!
However, BK hunts are not enough of a challenge for this uber-awesome pirate, who has now turned his eye on undertaking flotilla runs to beat up the BK's on an even larger scale. Stay tuned for more updates on this subject!
When asked to describe Btza for this article, Sammyjean said the following: "Btza is a thoroughly nice and decent guy. Everybody who knows him likes him. In fact, he may be a little too nice (or possibly too susceptible to fluttered eyelashes and lavish application of hugs and kisses) because he seems to do everything I tell him to. I mean ask him to."
Here Sammyjean smiles and blushes before continuing. "If I want to go pillaging, all I have to do is ask him to take me and he will... almost instantly. It is because of his willingness to take me pillaging that I finally managed to get my ult sails. And he is an awesome pirate. He is so talented at just about every puzzle that it is a relief that he sucks at gunning, at least that way you can tell he's human! Also, just look at the way he upgraded his SW stall just because I thought it would be fun to be manager. I mean, come on, I'm totally useless at it! Although I would like to point out that I am NOT stealing the profits to buy clothes."
Sammyjean laughs and grins cheekily. "No, it was just after we started sharing his house that I was...borrowing his poe. I used it to buy furniture and I paid it back immediately, I swear! Anyway, the man is incredibly sweet and my bestest friend on the Cobalt Ocean and I love him to bits. He even lets me tell him what to wear. I mean, advise him on his wardrobe... What more can I say?"
