Lower Bracket

Match 237 Bladen Kargach*
Title and Source Enough is enough [closed] The Bass Masters - concerns about their shares
I'm sick of all this whining,

there is too much tarting here.

Acerbic, and sarcastic responses;
Are we talking about Shakespeare ?

Equal parts awe, fear, and jealousy
For what they themselves can do

Makes for nasty situations
There are others playing , too.

An angry thread, again
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
This place is starting to scare me
So uh, well, you know...

We feel quite passionately about the game
So please set your mind at ease
All is settled now
We'll just share philosophies

I'm sick of all this whining
We're all fallible I guess

Do I still love the game?
Yes.

I personally am not a big believer in war .

That's not what I think that this puzzle game is for .

So what if we're pirates , and pirates were mean ?

There's too much evil in real life from what I have seen .

I pay my ten spot each month to have some " target="_blank">small fun .

I shouldn't need to bet my own ship on each run .

Let the others engage in their lose - your - ship game .

I'd rather keep mine safe if it's all the same .

Maybe a flag we can raise when we look for a fight ?

Whatever , as long as I can have a pleasant (Mid)night .

Match 238 Thusnelda Talisker*
Title and Source Pirate Horde X Prize [Closed]
Thusnelda was unable to enter due to a broken elbow. Send her hugs. Step up! Step up!

The game is for us all
Some will win an island,

Some of you will fall.

Step up! Step up!

If you dream of war.
Trouble makers on the seas,
That's what pirates are.

Step up! Step up!
If you think that's funny,

Own a shop and win that prize
Take home a lot of money.

Step up! Step up!
If rules are your thing!

Order pirates one and all.
Play the game of Kings.

Step up! Step up!
There is PoE here for the taking

There is rum for each of you
And pirate merry-making.

Step up! Step up!
Just as I was saying
come and get your prizes all

Everyone wins by playing.

Match 239 Sharrac* Wmcduff
Title and Source Concerning Real Life what not to do
A life?? outside of my computer??

I have no idea what you are talking about.

The only things I know outside Y!PP
is this real life thingy. (I've never heard of it.)
Dreampt of puzzles last night.
I am quite happy with my life at the moment

(as if ye all cant tell);
I don't have a problem.

I'm finding all sorts of reasons why it would be best
to just stay at home in front of my computer all day.
Yeah, I'm smrat - going to PAY to stay addicted!!!

I used to lead an active lifestyle;
How dare you make such a fun and addictive game!
Nahhh... I don't have a problem.

Seriously. Im nearly drooling on my keyboard,

but all that is going to stop;
me next trick is gettin' me boss hooked on Y!PP,
so's I can play at work without losin' me job!
Ive played for lesse... around 50-54 hours in 3 days.
Uh...
Hooked?

Me?
Nahhh... I don't have a problem.

We earned our poe and things.

how old r u

A question or something?

talk to me friend

NO begging for money.
OHH MY GOSH
Trade requests aren't funny.

The key with greenies:
ok IM 12

Do be patient. (Smilies! :) :)

oh yea right.

(Note: the linking for 'ok IM 12' and 'oh yea right' are both messed up.
Those words all appear in the thread that Wmcduff chose so I'm not disqualifying
him, but as judges you can consider the messed up linking in your decision on this
match.)

Match 240 Nartie Daynarius*
Title and Source SWORDFIGHTING: The sword or the wielder? What do you play for?
Overwhelmingly the fighter.

A skilled swordfighter with a stick -
Their sword can determine the match.
Buying a skulldagger or scim,
Won't all of your fights win, but

Using a foil won't make you lose.
Let me get this straight:
The sword does matter.

I've had my cleaver forever,
All these other swords go to waste.
The sword does not make the fighter,
It's the fighter that makes the match.

I've beaten ultimates with skulls -
It all depends on how you fight.
Let me clarify,
It's all in the wrist.

Pick a sword you think looks pretty,
Longsword, dirk or reversed sabre.
Do not include the stick or foil,
A foil is weaker than a skull.

Right now I use a scimitar.
I might do better with a dirk.
There's no more to it.
Buy a decent blade.

Do you play to win, or play to play?

Do you leave the track, or run part way?
Is winning the only outcome that matters?
Will you label all competitors as cheaters?

The question is asked because someone did say:

"Only for the truly unenlightened does winning equate to fun."

So often people's opinions are strong;
the basis of the argument is "I'm right and he's wrong,"

unless someone is deeper into being rather preachy
and needs to examine Good and Evil in Neitzsche.
Quoth he who beat the game (it's not Justin Wong):

"Let's not forget having your boyfriend kneecap your competators."

In a game like Puzzle Pirates, I find
there are hard-coded rules to just keep in mind:

Don't accuse others of booching the game,
what's fun for you and for them likely isn't the same.

To consider the value of this statement, be so kind:

"I play cause when I just sit there for too long not playing it logs me out."
