Template talk:Gem list
If you'll recall the booched Mad Sloop Race, there is a much larger list of gems that were used at one point. I'm not sure whether to call them "Amber" or "Ambers" or "Amber gems," though. – Yaten talk 16:19, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- I wasn't sure what it looked like (actually I'm not even sure my amethyst is the right one...), so I didn't put it in. Is it the one that I called amethyst in the email? --Guppymomma 16:31, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Actually now that I look at your link, I think I can label them all correctly. Will add in a few moments. Thanks! --Guppymomma 16:32, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Obviously I'm deluded :). I'll just upload them all with unknown_gem1-whatever and put them here with my speculations as to what is what and perhaps someone who saw them can help fill in the info. --Guppymomma 16:45, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Okay, added here just to make sure before I go uploading anything (since reuploads are futzed for the forseen future, I'd rather get it right the first time). I'm also looking for comments on the plural nature of things....aka which ones get "gems" tacked on rather than s or es. I've filled in what I think the plurals for the objects would be. --Guppymomma 16:58, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- You have them all labeled correctly. – Yaten talk 17:32, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Oops, beryls and amethysts are switched. – Yaten talk 17:34, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Ah ha! Dammit :) I knew there would be some sort of issue that I wouldn't really be able to fix due to the image updating thing. I never should have uploaded "amethysts" sigh :) --Guppymomma 17:51, 14 August 2005 (PDT)

I've added the stuff below to the template and kept the "unknown" names because I'm afraid of uploading them and having something weird and not being able to reupload :) --Guppymomma 08:26, 17 August 2005 (PDT)
Links
Should the truly unused gems be changed to Unused, rather than Event Gem (Midnight)? The we can have the event gems that have been used link to their pages. --AtteSmythe 13:02, 19 October 2005 (PDT)
Reformat
The gem list is no longer a quick infobox looking thing. I believe we need to consider a different format for it. Perhaps move the island/arch information into the gem article in an easy lookup table and then just have the gems under their ocean headers. Or something. Anyone have suggestions or want to do a suggested mockup? --Guppymomma 15:21, 30 May 2007 (PDT)
- I made up a new one here: http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/User:Sashamorning/sandbox/gems It needs a little bit of formatting as far as Midnight is concerned. Sashamorning 16:40, 30 May 2007 (PDT)
- Nevermind. I just narrowed the box. Take a look and tell me what you think. If I don't hear anything, I'll just import it. Sashamorning 16:44, 30 May 2007 (PDT)
