Template talk:Familiar winner

From YPPedia

Two things: (1) It'd be great if someone converted Midnight and Cobalt to use this template. (2) Someone with more aesthetic sense should try to improve the layout of this template. --Barrister 02:18, 22 October 2005 (PDT)

A possible thing to do would be to split the familiar tables into individuals hehe. I'll ponder it while I complain bitterly to myself about cleaning my apartment. :) aka I'll probably do it this weekend. --Guppymomma 10:03, 22 October 2005 (PDT)
I've done the monkeys and octopi. I've fixed the image of the parrots so the background is transparent, but have not started to crop them. As images don't work with / in 'em the names will be Parrot-headcolor-bodycolor.png unless someone can think of a better method. Also if anyone else wants to help crop, I've uploaded the image (removed). Don't forget to use alpha transparency and leave a single empty pixel wide border on all sides of the parrot. --Guppymomma 15:22, 22 October 2005 (PDT)
I'll do a few of these, at least until they drive me crazy. – Yaten talk 19:10, 22 October 2005 (PDT)
Oooo, they're all done if you've got up to & including maroon. Thanks, Yaten. --Guppymomma 21:27, 22 October 2005 (PDT)

I'm thinking of adding another field of "current owner" - it may result in a few unknowns and swaps, but I feel it will make the guide more informative. Comments? --Piplicus 04:46, 20 November 2005 (PST)

No objection. Just don't auto-link the new owner. The current owner may not be especially notable. --Barrister 09:17, 20 November 2005 (PST)

Proposal:Optional auto-link

I'm thinking we should add a new parameter for whether or not to link the name. There are some cases where auto-linking isn't appropriate, such as team names (one of the team-based events on the Midnight Familiars page), and cases in which the winner of a familiar contest deleted their pirate (the case for Jellomold). Since our preference is to auto-link, the default would be yes.

Course, this can be done by simply removing the link from the template, and converting all of the familiar pages...but this proposal is less work ;). I'll give it a few days before I do anything. --Thunderbird 00:54, 9 July 2006 (PDT)
