Reboot timing

It looks like current reboot time (on Cobalt at least) is 9am PST. --Moushtie

Aye, the same seems to be true for Viridian. At least the last yonk reboots have been at 9am PST, do we want to remove the time reference from this article as it does not appear to be true anymore? Dirtyfoot, 5:10 pm PST, 16.7.6

Updated now that there's ample Developer confirmation over the reboot time change. -- Faulkston 15:14, 27 August 2006 (PDT)

I've put in reboot times of all oceans, my doubloon ocean reboot PDT times was confirmed by Poseidon and he informed me of the subscriber ocean times. --Burnt Water 22:40, 20 October 2006 (PDT)

I've done some calculations and it looks like it should be PST not PDT- please confirm details.-- Wwolf (on Viridian)~9Wolf Jan 2, 2008 6:35:14 AM PST

Yes, Viridian reboots at 9am PST --Siriuskase 09:02, 14 January 2008 (PST)

Has anyone determined the Malachite Ocean reboot time? -- Faulkston 19:09, 2 June 2008 (PDT)

Reboot delays

I was under the impression that the one minute reboot delays were automatic by the server when it was still attempting to clean up certain things (unload scenes, ships and whatnot from memory) and that OMs/devs weren't responsible for those. I do know that devs (don't know about OMs) can change the reboot time directly if needed. Such as when Roparzh did this on Ice earlier today:

[18:14:22] The server will be rebooted in 2 minutes. More Rumble updates including sound and challengable NPPs
[18:15:13] The server will be rebooted in 20 minutes. Looks like I get to pull a Peghead, this release will take a bit longer.

--Thunderbird 23:17, 23 March 2006 (PST)

It would appear it's not just one minute they can delay by...

[16:53:50] Demeter broadcasts, "I've delayed the reboot for around an hour due to a few tournaments and events that are underway just now. Sorry for any inconvenience!"

This was for the Viridian BoNB 3 --Angelbeaver 07:57, 29 June 2006 (PDT)
She probably pestered a Dev to get that delay. Generally, the Developers don't like delaying reboots for too long since they often have other oceans that are set to reboot right after. Arcturus said something like that to me when I asked if the reboot could/would be delayed because there was a tourney up, on round 6/8. --Sagacious (talk) 08:02, 29 June 2006 (PDT)

It is indefinite, as far as I can tell. We had a reboot message pop up during BoNB Sage 3. Artemis delayed it for an hour, after I guessed how long it would take me to finish. I'd venture that they are allowed to delay it, but try to avoid it wherever possible because of spontaneous HWFO over bias and guidelines for it. --Piplicus 10:00, 29 June 2006 (PDT)

reboot never on weekends

but do not happen everyday, and never on weekends. -this has to be changed as i noticed yesterday (Saturday) and also today there are reboots at viridian. -Darkwiesten

The more frequent reboots are due to issues on the oceans. As soon as the issues are resolved, the weekend reboots and daily reboots will probably go back to the usual schedule. --Thunderbird 09:40, 18 May 2008 (PDT)

Reboot timing

The reboots are timed badly so that they are around 30 minutes after uk "rush hour" when most offices, collages and schools close, cant the hunter reboot be a hour or so earlier, because i usually have to get off the computer for whatever reason at 9.00 am game time and it doesnt help if i am waiting 30 minutes for the reboot to happen and finish.
