Talk:Ostreum Island (Midnight)

From YPPedia

During the three way blockade between BSB, NF and Ragnarok, Homullus attempted to drop the warchest in the middle of round 1, not round 2 as noted by the wiki. It was expected that dropping the warchest during the blockade will initate NF as a contender in round 2, as per normal blockade mechanics. However, no one including the Ringers foresaw that this was not the case if the warchest was dropped during the blockade but outside the warchest window. It ended up with Cleaver or Poseidon manually listing NF as a contender (or a forced warchest drop) in the middle of round 2. I can dig up forum posts (and references from prominent NF members at the time) to back that up before I carry out the edit. - Dubrub, 06:56, 13 March 2006 (PST)

There seems to be contradicting posts, which is possible since people are not as aware about blockade mechanics as they are now. Dolphine and I were part of the blockade organisers and I believe that my memory serves me right that people were excited about getting a warchest dropped before round 2. - Dubrub, 07:56, 13 March 2006 (PST)

Looks good enough to me, I'd always wondered about the whole past the window drops thing. Do you know if they've since fixed it? --Guppymomma 15:05, 13 March 2006 (PST)
If I remember correctly, Pay for Play dropped a chest on Viridis (during the 5-6 blockades running at once) in round 4. Don't know why, but they were apparently able to. --Thunderbird 16:02, 13 March 2006 (PST)
Cyndiepet and I were coordinating that day; Tristan actually dropped in the middle of round 3. As for why: He knew we could win it if he could get a brig filled over there in time, but we'd stopped jobbing a while before then. Took a bit too much time to ramp back up, so we had to settle for winning it for SC instead. :/ --Zava 20:18, 13 March 2006 (PST)
Well, either way it answers Guppy's question ;). And dropping in the middle of Round 3 is tantamount to dropping before Round 4 in that your points will not count for your side until Round 4. --Thunderbird 20:20, 13 March 2006 (PST)
Hmm, I have to fish through logs now. I do know the initial intent was to win it. Maybe I'm dead wrong and it was actually round 2.--Zava 20:47, 13 March 2006 (PST)
It was definitely fixed before Endurance III last year. During the No Homers blockade of Endurance last year, NF crashed the party and dropped a warchest before round 1, making them a contender. Since the blockade was on a Sunday, it was definitely outside the warchest drop window. -- Dubrub 08:32, 18 March 2006 (PST)
