This is not an index

Or that's what I was thinking anyway. There are entirely too many lists about, and all out of sync with each other and or reality. To lessen the problem, I'm deleting the lists of flags in this article, leaving strictly as an "article", and linking to the Yellow Pages and Category:Flag for actual indexing. — Callistan (talk/contrib) 17:04, 3 August 2005 (PDT)

I support deleting the contents. --Barrister 17:14, 3 August 2005 (PDT)
Delete. The Yellow Pages serve the list's former purpose. – Yaten talk 17:49, 3 August 2005 (PDT)

Flag roles box

I noticed the crew page has the nifty little Crew Roles box on it. I think adding the flag roles box to this page would be nice as well to give some continuity to it. --Fannon 08:58, 3 March 2006 (PST)

Flag pages

I figured this was the best place to put this, but if it isn't, please move it.

Flag pages are, for the most part, either empty or unencyclopedic. I recently removed two unencyclopedic messages from flags on different flag pages and added a NPOV tag to Imperio's history (er.. I hope this can be delt with on the talk page and not another thread from Parthanos). I feel that it would be very benificial if flag pages were cleaned up (Silver Dawn being an absolutely excellent example of a "good" flag page), but I want to make sure that I'm not overstepping. In both cases, the removed bits were part of the flag's public statement. Whether or not that was overstepping though, I'll leave that to others (I've got no opinion in that area). --Thunderbird 15:13, 11 March 2006 (PST)
Oh..they probably should've been put under such a title then, because it looked like they were just parts of the article. I'll add them back under "Public Statement" sections.
The empty or unencyclopaedic thing is definitely an issue in general with both flag and crew pages. Often we just hop onto the game and do a quick check of the public statement to figure out what's what if the page seems a little confusing. Not all flags have a long interesting history like Silver Dawn, but we don't want to completely discourage them from using the wiki because they don't have too much to say. That's sorta why public statement are allowed. It may be that your energies would be best spent improving on the flag pages of historied flags or even just flags that have dropped chests for blockades (a large number of those are still red links on the blockade history pages). That way we'd have more good examples to point people to when they ask what's a good flag page. It could also increase the number of folks bothering to read flag pages. Anyhow, those're my two flakes. --Guppymomma 17:44, 11 March 2006 (PST)

Starting a new flag: Wrong information?

This page says: "Additionally, a crew may create its own flag, though the required level of fame for this action is much higher, except on the Sage Ocean where a crew must be at least Established."

I'm on Midnight, and it says I need to be Established to start a crew. So it's not just Sage. I don't know what the correct info is, though, so I can't fix it.
