Talk:Emerald

From YPPedia

Nothing links here. Any special reason to create the page? --Barrister 14:11, 8 August 2005 (PDT)

Something used to link here but someone removed it, without a good reason since this page does exist now.

Several vanity pages have had island names (without the word island), or arch names without arch in the name. Someway to redirect those references to the island/arch should be implemented--Markozeta 14:14, 8 August 2005 (PDT)

It would be ideal if this was done for all the archipelagoes, since people want to be able to type in Emerald to get to the page about the archipelago. I thought I'd just make them as I came across them. -Paladin

Ah, I'm the kind of person who'll do a whole category at once rather than as-I-find-it. No objection to creating the redirects, though. --Barrister 14:20, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
Unless they're searching for information on what to do with the "emerald" they foraged or won from brigands. --Guppymomma 14:23, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
put that in emeralds? --Markozeta 14:24, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
Since that is probably much more rare, I'd suggest putting "This is about the archipelago Emerald. For the gem, go to gems." and stuff like that in the relevant articles. It's not just more rare because more people have to deal with archipelagoes than with gems, but also because after reading what to do with gems once, you get it. Archipelagoes are pages people will want to keep coming back to for (updated) info. -Paladin
Sounds like a good plan to me. If you do the redirects, I'll pop in the gem disambig bit on the pages. --Guppymomma 15:57, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
