Talk:Admiraling a blockade

From YPPedia

Hrm, yeah I guess Admiraling a blockade would be a better title. Is there a work in progess tag to add to this? I couldn't seem to find one. How can it be both a tutorial and opinion though? -Jacktheblack 07:29, 7 February 2006 (PST)

In general, all wiki articles are eternally considered works in progress, so no WiP tag is really needed. Almost all the tutorials are tagged with opinion because there is no one single guaranteed "right" way to do things like blockades or sloop pillaging. So the opinion tag just helps with the folks who complain that the tutorial only presents certain points of view. Make sense? --Guppymomma 07:36, 7 February 2006 (PST)
True, okay, should I add the templetes for the rest of the info and leave it blank then? Its basicly an outline, but they don't really call for stub tags to be added in. -Jacktheblack 07:39, 7 February 2006 (PST)
Feel free to add in outlines/sections or whatever helps you and other writers get the writing job done. You can just not bother with the stub tags, if someone else is hell bent on seeing them, they can do the work ;) --Guppymomma 07:41, 7 February 2006 (PST)

I think that the jobbing should be set to 45mins rather than 30. Recently it really shows that the side to open jobbing sooner gets a larger share of jobbers. 1 hour is a bit hardcore but 50mins seems reasonable. perhaps the Teamspeak checks and any preblockade meeting can happen at t-1 hour 15 mins but 1 hour can do as long as it doesnt run into jobbing time too much. --Sailerboylee 06:06, 25 March 2006 (PST)

The problem with 45 minutes is non-flaggies/hardcores start to get bored and you end up losing them-but yeah definitely best to open the door to your flag and friends 45 minutes early. By the way this guide is really good.--Rome 20:51, 24 June 2006 (PDT)
A problem with pushing stuff back that far is that people are stupid, and I say that kindly. I have yet to see a blockade where at least one navver wasn't at least a half-hour late. Presumably having the vital teamspeak-theory-politics-pep talk meetings earlier will just make it a bigger problem. And as much as I know that you could just whip your navvers that much harder, well. --Ponytailguy 21:21, 24 June 2006 (PDT)

Slight edit recommendation...Navigators should all be listening on over either crew or voice chat for commands to deport and which side of the board to enter. Change that! NEVER use crew chat to communicate with navers and XOs. There is usually too much chatter and can easily be missed. Use officer chat to communicate with them (if not using a voice chat program) so that it stands out.--Cyndiepet 14:52, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
