Talk:2009 Design Easter Eggs - Rendered entries
Ummm I really don't know exactly how to do this, except by taking other pages apart and doing things to it until I get it to look right. I'm trying to help out with the 2009 Easter egg event. This isn't an "official" collection of entries from which they will be judged (I hope), but I think some people just like to look at all the eggs in one place. The pages from the previous 2 years have changed somehow. They used to show the eggs and now they only show links. I came up with the idea of uploading the rendered egg submission (giving a uniform name to them) directly to the yppedia, if this is permissible.
Please let me know if this will be ok to continue. Perhaps I'm doing it the longer, harder way, but if it works in the end, I'm happy.
- Certainly space is not an issue here. There is nothing wrong with collecting all of the images that get rendered here. I would also like to see the all of the flat images uploaded. As was discussed in the Yppedia forum I would recommend using the filename of Egg-rendered-2009-Piratename-number.png. Oh thanks so much for that link to that discussion! Sure, I'll be happy to stick to that naming scheme! I'll even get to work on a separate page with the flat files!
Would it be possible for rendered entries on the entry thread to be added here automatically. I would be willing to add new entries as they come and I personally think that an opt-out system would be more beneficial than an opt-in system. Guppyzr 11:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Would it be possible, as if I remember correctly, last year, notated with each entry, was a note if it was invalid due to not being seamless. I see some pretty cool entries, but they will not be seamless as per the rules of the event and would only take some tweaking to fix. Not sure if it would be best on the rendered, or flat entry page in wiki. --Celiatr 06:53, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have made a note on a couple that I know are not seamless on the rendered page.. where I think it would be more beneficial as that is what most people will be looking.. and it won't get lost in all large images on the flag designs page. --Fizz 17:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Well I debated that question myself. Technically, I thought these pages were just to collect what has been submitted in the official entry thread, correct or incorrect. I would venture to guess that if an entrant has submitted art that is NOT seamless, that they have not read the rules completely or don't understand what seamless means. If they have not followed the rendering/event threads, their knowledge of THESE pages even existing is probably slim. A PM to the entrant personally, pointing out their problem would be more beneficial to them, than leaving a notation here in my opinion. ~Dex

Naughtytors eggs - Flat egg #2 gets reuploaded at #4s spot instead of #2. #4 goes to #3s spot. #3 goes to #2s spot. - Complete
Perfectteens eggs - Flat egg #4 goes to #1. Flat egg #3 goes to #2. Flat egg #1 goes to #3. Flat egg #2 goes to #4. - Complete
Rhodins eggs - Please render these and please watch what you name the file. - Complete
Sallymaes eggs - 5 and 6 swap. - Complete
Meadflagons eggs - Need to be rendered and uploaded. Please watch order of uploading! - Complete
Cardeas eggs - A few submissions here that need uploaded
Greylady eggs - Many changes [1] that need uploaded. Only eggs 3, 7 and 8 are final versions. All others need replaced or updated.
