MediaWiki talk:Uploadtext

From YPPedia

I'd like to add wording to this. Something to the tune of:

Do not upload artwork unless you created it from scratch or you have explicit permission from the original artist to upload it to YPPedia and relicense it under YPPedia's copyright.

Any thoughts on this or suggestions to change the text to be a bit better? --Guppymomma 13:21, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

Maybe some color (like red or blue) to highlight key words? Maybe a threat of bodily harm? --Barrister 16:46, 27 June 2006 (PDT)
I vote for the flash tag. --Eurydice 19:56, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

Actually, I'm taking a look at Wikipedia's Uploadtext and thinking we should do something similar to it. I'm going to paste it below and everyone can pitch in converting it to YPPedia and adding our special bits. I say we adjust the blocking policy to cover people who cannot obey the world of copyright after being warned. I think we need some sort of page on image use or to blip that bit out below. Please take a stab at it. --Guppymomma 20:05, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

The blocking policy does already define copyright infringement as an offense...But I think we should only give one warning for it, and increase the block length to a month. Copyright infringement is serious, isn't it? --Emufarmers 22:58, 27 June 2006 (PDT)
I've implemented this. Comments suggesting changes can still be made here on the talk page. --Guppymomma 16:38, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
