Midnight's "Flag Football" League. In the grandest traditions of NCAA football, blockade strategies and tactics have been turned into a spectator sport with YPP Flag Football. Currently this event only runs on the Midnight Ocean, however the MBL is actively seeking sister orginazations to work with in running this event on other oceans.

What Are The Basics?

Since this is done in the spirit of “piratey” football, eleven players from each of the present Flag Football teams will be allowed on the field at one time. Cutters are the only ship class allowed on the playing field (blockade board) in Flag Football. Each team will be allowed TEN cutters per game!

  • Midnight Ocean will be divided into eight conferences. These conferences represent the 8 archipelagos: Coral, Diamond, Emerald, Jet, Opal, Pearl, Ruby, and Sapphire.
  • Each conference starts with all of the teams that wish to enter in that arch. Those teams then compete in four segments of the MBL season. Those four segments are referred to as "The Game Season", which is described in the next section.

The Game Season

This is a basic overview of the season. For greater details click on Flag Football Season.

Preseason: Each conference establishes the top 5 teams in that conference. These 5 teams move on to the regular season.

Regular Season: Each remaining team participates in two Conference-Only and two Inter-Conference games. Inter-Conference games are made up of one team from each conference. Each Conference-Only game is all of the teams from one specific arch.

Bowl Games: The winners from each conference will be paired against the winning team from another conference. 4 Bowls in all, will be played. Super Bowl Series: 4 teams, the Bowl winners. 3 games. 1 Champion.
