Can I fix spelling/grammar/phrasing in my assigned Short?

Yes, you can make technical corrections and modify your assigned Short as long as you keep the gist of the entry. You will be marked on how well you incorporate the Short entry into your Medium story, so you should use your own judgement as to how much to modify.

Do I have to include my assigned Short verbatim? (Word-for-word)

If you have been assigned a Bulwer-Lyttony entry, you must include your Short verbatim. (Allowing for technical corrections as explained above)

If you have been assigned a Nanofiction entry, you do not need to include your Short verbatim, but you should try and incorporate as many elements of your Short as possible.

What if I just really don't like my Short?

Tough. Sorry, dude. :)

Can I find out who wrote my Short?

If they tell you, sure. But my lips are sealed.

How do I submit my Medium entry?

Instructions on how to do this are in your PM, if you got one.

I didn't get a PM!

Then you probably didn't move on. Sorry! :-/

Is there a word counter for this round of play?

Yes. We will be using this counter to keep to the word limit for this round. (As a reminder, 1500-4000 words)

What do I do with Nanofiction? How do I incorporate it?

That's up to you. The two easiest paths, though:

  • Include it verbatim, either as the beginning or as a centre point in your story.
  • Isolate the elements and split them up, including them as plot points. (Feel free to mess with the chronology of the elements as well.)

Feel free to surprise us, of course!

Do I need to retain the title?

No.

Can I edit my entry after I've submitted it?

Yes, just resubmit it as if it's a new entry and I'll make the necessary changes.
