- This article refers to the event gems used on the Midnight Ocean. On the Sage Ocean, amethysts are normal gems, bought at Kasidim Island.
Amethyst gems were a special commodity used for the Endurance Island Handoff scavenger hunt. Teams were required to find a list of items and trivia and return them to Endurance Island. Amethyst gems were chosen because they are the birthstone of event organizer and developer Tedv. While Endurance's market maintains a 100 PoE buy offer for these gems, there is no known source of them. It is remotely possible that one may still be pillaged from a brigand.
