Available colors

I'm working on a full color table for this trinket. Just figured I'd let everyone know, so that there aren't two or more of us taking on this herculean task for no good reason. (The file I'm working on is an edited version of the My trinkets/Imperial penknife full image, so it should have all the proper dimensions?) It's currently about two thirds complete, so I should be done with it sometime tomorrow or the day after.

That said, Templates make me go a bit cross-eyed, so I'll probably just upload the image either to the empty "Colors-trinket-Bottle_o'_sand.png" filespace linked on the page, or toss it up on an image host and start a thread on the forums, to let someone who actually knows what they're doing deal with the code.

Also, if I'm somehow Doing it Wrong by basing the thing off the penknife table, someone please correct my bad behavior! -- Ladodal 18:59, 7 July 2012 (PDT)

I use the same process when creating them, except I have a bunch of "empty" tables that I just fill in. Sounds like you're doing it fine. Just make sure that you have the primary/secondary colors in the right order. For these trinkets it means that the primary color should be in the columns (that is, if red is primary, then the entire first column should be with the red primary and the other color as the secondary based on the row). The image and template are two separate things, so uploading it to the above image name is perfect. I can do the template after that. Thanks for doing this! Yep, I have primary as columns, secondary as rows. And I'm actually being a good girl (or possibly just insane) and properly screencapping each color combo, not frankensteining them together with cut and pasted layers. (I may have looked into doing it that way. I may have confirmed that the Bottle o' Sand is an annoyingly complex beastie, and that doing that never resulted in an output image that matched the real thing.)

Anyway, I'm the fool who encouraged Calvallo to make a dual-recolorable trinket in the first place... so I somehow feel I should be responsible for the back-end Boring Bits of what I inadvertently helped unleash upon our oceans. If anyone's scratching their heads and wondering why I've re-uploaded the color table image... it's because the bottle for yellow/grey was situated one pixel lower than it should have been. There's always something. (Fortunately, I still have the working file with everything divided into layers, because I knew I would find an error at some point.) I've inspected the image again to make sure that was the only issue, and I couldn't find anything else. (Which naturally means there are a dozen more problems I'll come across later...) --Ladodal 19:51, 15 July 2012 (PDT)
