YPPedia:Signature

From YPPedia

Signatures on YPPedia identify a user's contribution in discussions.

When to use signatures

Contributions made to talk/discussion pages should be signed, so it's easier to follow discussions. Edits to articles however should not be signed, as signatures on YPPedia are not intended to indicate ownership or authorship of any article. Rather, the page history takes care of identifying edits with users.

How to sign posts

There are two ways to append a signature:

  1. Adding a sequence of two dashes followed by four tildes at the end of a post: --~~~~
  2. Using the signature button Signature icon.png in the toolbar directly above the edit box will add the same sequence.

Upon saving or previewing the sequence will be expanded into a signature bearing the date of the edit. Example: --Exampleuser 23:14, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
