TLL captains

Sorry if this is a dumb question, and if it's none of my business, just say so - I remember that TLL used to hold periodic elections for the captain's hat. Has that changed? Korr's been captain a while. :) If that has changed, it may be worth noting on his page. (Korr was so cool, we superglued the hat to his head!) *cough*--Zava 06:28, 18 September 2006 (PDT)

I'd never heard of actual elections- although our periodic changeups probably looked intentional, most were due to captains leaving for real-life duties (Tealbeard, Kathe) or other goals in the game (Scarymuffin). In a way, that succession of captains being away has lead to the current governmental style of our crew, which I think of as "democtatorship"- we'll debate anything vigorously, and then the captain will make a final decision loosely based off of that debate. Oddly, it works.

Let me know if you have any other questions! My next project will be to wikify a few other crewmates who are missing, but it's a matter of finding time to get the data I need on them.

cc'd to Zava's page. Mere mortals were not meant to know which she checks. --Pauling 11:40, 18 September 2006 (PDT)

Interesting stuff, thank you! I should go through my logs from when I was queen; I'm sure someone from TLL told me that you elected your captains. No matter, really. :) Amusingly, OTR functions much the same way.
If you'd like, you can copy the fancy bits to your own talk page. I copied the code from Yaten's page. If you got really into it, you could make that widget blue and yellow. ;) --Zava 13:59, 18 September 2006 (PDT)

Flag links on wiki pages

It'd be nice, but linking anything other then portrait pages is usually frowned upon. The best link I could find was this one. There was some discussion here and here about automagically updating wiki pages, but it never really went anywhere. --Zava 15:03, 18 September 2006 (PDT)

Just a note!

I appreciate the little notes here and there when you notice something that's not right. Very handy! You can add the tags and such yourself if you feel secure about it, but what you've been doing is fine. Also, leaving a message on someone's User page won't catch their attention - the talk page is what triggers that flashy (scary?) box. Thanks! --Zava 22:26, 18 September 2006 (PDT) (Not stalking you, I promise)

CSD

Please feel free to use the CSD/proposed deletion tags on image pages. We'll probably still run across talk page notes, but CSD makes everything go quicker. :) --Ponytailguy 12:40, 24 September 2006 (PDT)

Oh, and before I forget

As a general rule of thumb, if you see a situation like what's happening with Beachie (User making a few dozen frequent edits to a page), try and give them 20-30 minutes of breathing room before stepping in yourself to fix it up. You can, of course, use the talk page (and the user's talk page) to provide advice and assistance, but if you're editing while they're editing, they get yucky and confusing edit conflict errors which won't help the situation much. Of course, if they're doing something patently wrong/illegal/against the TOS or have invoked {{helpme}}, go nuts. :) --Ponytailguy 12:49, 24 September 2006 (PDT)
