A note from Belthazar

Ahoy! You'll find not quite up-to-date lists of buildings from each ocean save Ice below:

Note that I'm currently working on Malachite, whenever I remember that I am. Also, the Ice Ocean apothecaries et al categories don't need to be placed in the Ice Ocean category, since the Ice Ocean buildings category (of which they are all members) is. I've reverted your edits for this reason.

P.S. Apologies for sticking this here - due to a WikiMedia bug, I'm having difficulties editing your talk page. --Belthazar451 22:01, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry bout that but I remember seeing one of the other Ice building type catergorys with that catergory, that talk page bug is annoying me as well. P.S Gonna shift a copy of this to my talk page --Lcawte 17:47, 11 May 2009 (UTC) (Talk)

Spelling

Perhaps it might help if you used a spell checker or something. The plural of entry is entries. Not entrys. --Guppymomma 16:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Woops, sorry :S Will change it --Lcawte 16:49, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Moved to Art:

I've moved Recreate My Holiday Snaps to Recreate My Holiday Snaps where all forum art contest belong. Please remember to create the article in that Art: namespace whenever you archive an artistic event. Thanks.--Fiddler 17:33, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Re:Help

Looking at what you were asking for help on and it looks to me like you already figured it out. Correct? -- Cedarwings (talk) 16:49, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

With the help of Alfwyn yep --Lcawte 16:50, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Your Infobox Template

LOL I want to use the one that says "This user knows Lcawte" hehe! Adrielle =) 07:01, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Okey, I think my one says "This user is Lcawte but I can make you an adapted copy, at the moment its not a "Template" as such but its something I've been meaning to do --Lcawte 14:39, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, I think it's cool! hehe =D Adrielle =) 10:45, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
I will make you an adapted copy at some point... just working on a few annoying peices of template --Lcawte 10:50, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Done it try this {{tl|User:Lcawte/Template_for_use/Userbox/mini_temps/others/Lcawte, just add the {{ }} to the template and it should work. P.S Image will change when I upload a new portrait to the Lcawte article (Working on a naming scheme for a solid image) --Lcawte 21:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Redirecting user pages

Hoy hoy!

Just wondering if there is any specific reason why user pages should not redirect to the pirate page if there is no other content there. I looked in the YPPeddia policies and style guide and found no reference to the matter either way. I can easily understand avoiding links from wiki to user namespaces, but for a wiki such as this the opposite seems like a perfectly natural practise. Enlighten me, when you can!

Thanks mate, - fyre talk 10:22, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

I am not sure but I have just seen admins doing it, it also helps stop Double redirects etc... And wiki user pages (supposivly) tell you somthing about the editor. --Lcawte 10:28, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Yah, user pages are about the user, while pirate articles are about the pirate. We like to keep the main namespace and the user namespace separate, and making user pages into redirects kind of blurs that line. On a side note, other than in cases of rule-breaking, link correction and specific permission, we don't edit other peoples' user pages at all. If they want to leave their user page blank, that's their prerogative. Fair winds! --Belthazar451 11:45, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Having the user page redirect to another page makes it harder to leave messages for the user. The comments may easily end up on the talk page the redirect points to. --Alfwyn 11:55, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Cool, glad I did the right thing. --Lcawte 11:57, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: your change to my user page. To be fair, my own user page has been redirecting for over a week, as was my own preference... I understand (though humbly disagree in the case of YPPedia) yours and others' argument to keep the namespaces separate, though it'd be nice if there was official documentation to keep this clear. Perhaps this can be generated for future reference? - fyre talk 09:32, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Ahoy, I just put a thing on the talk page of guidelines and policies asking to add this to it. --Lcawte 09:34, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks mate. :) - fyre talk 12:05, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Patience

Ahoy! Please be patient with other editors. According to the Yppedia:Editors' Code of Conduct, a general guideline would be to wait 15 minutes before you jump in to fix mistakes on the page they are working on. Even leaving them a message on their talk page with suggestions they can use to fix the page themselves is sometimes better. There is nothing more frustrating, especially for a new editor, then getting an edit conflict message on the screen. Fair winds! --Belthazar451 21:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't understand messages on here

Thanks so much for helping. I have it all fixed now. Duckling

Sorry for frequent edits.

Hello! Sorry for all those edits, am kinda begginer with all those wiki things. Didn't know that it's so noticeable that I edit my own page. I'll use the preview function next time. Sorry again. Actually I didn't know how to put a response, so I looked at your post for example, and just put a useless edit again. Am really sorry. I made a bad thing that I responded to your message at my message board, however I just learned that I should respond to the user that has commented me, by putting a comment to his page. Am going to learn much things about wikis now, and use the preview button. Wormi 20:28, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

No need to worry! See the response on your talk page, Happy Editing! --Lcawte 20:31, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Question

I'll use the situation to ask you, since you said I can. First you can tell me if I did right to put next message as a new comment rather than editing an existing one. Also, am confused with the talk pages. You posted a response on your page, as well as on mine. So I am confused, when I get a comment, I must actually respond to the person, or write at mine? Sorry if am asking for some easy things, but I am kinda lame when reading the help. I learned some new things at wikipedia, for example the four tilde signature and such. I just edited my page because I didn't knew it's so barely noticeable at the first time. Now I know. When I look at the edit history, I was like "Wow... So much". Anyways, I wish to know about that response thing I mentioned above. Also the discuss page is kinda strange for, it's like... someone must put their messages manually, no function like "Add post" at forums? It looks like someone could edit messages of other people. But I guess it's possible to see if someone does so at the history? Right? Sorry if I'm not clear. Am just a newbie. Oh, I wanted to put an emote at end of my message, can I do so? Wormi 20:38, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Hm, as much as responding to messages, some people like to do a Re:Subject on the other persons talk page, but try to keep it on one talk page. Dont edit over the other peoples messages, if something sounds fishy, compare the 2 versions in the history. An example responce can be shown like the below.
This was the first persons message! --~~~~
:This is the responce, using : indents a responce. When replying to a message, add a new line with an extra : than the message your are responding to. For example see below. --~~~~
::Ok like this? --~~~~
:::Exactly, --~~~~
:: What if that starts to get alittle silly?
::: Just undent it by adding no :'s and add {undent} at the start of your sentence or something! --~~~~

Hope that helped! --Lcawte 20:46, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

If I did a right response, then it helped. But if I respond your page without adding new section, do you get informed of new message? Also, If someone speaks at my page, and don't get informed about response, he won't know. So If I don't respond to his profile, he may never notice? Oh, I just made another useless edit, but I just reminded something: What is an undent? I am not from an english speaking country. --Wormi 20:54, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Yep you did it right, if you edit another persons talk page they get an orange bar, the same as adding a new section. Basicly if I was to log out and edit via my IP, even changing one character, I would get the orange bar when I log back in. Undent is basicly the opposite of Indent, so taking out indents in other words. If you need anything, I'm off to sleep now, Just leave me messages and I'll get to them tommorow. --Lcawte 21:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Okay, but if I would (for example) respond to Your message, on my page, you don't get notified, that way you may not know there is a response if you don't track my page. Right? --Wormi 21:40, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
True, but I may add it to my watchlist so it shows up as bold on the recent changes, or it tells me at Special:Watchlist, I'll just check that. To add something to your watchlist click Watch this page under the summary line. --Lcawte 06:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Borders around images

Hi hi! I was wondering if you knew how to whack a border around an image. I am making a pretty box and it would look so much nicer with a border around the picture, lol. Adrielle =) 09:39, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

All I know is you can add [[Image:Example.jpg|border]]. Ive tried customizing but it doesnt seem to work... --Lcawte 11:32, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanx! That gives me an idea... hehe Adrielle =) 11:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Edit: I tried my idea, but it didn't work, lol! I'll keep experimenting! Adrielle =) 11:49, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Happy late B'day!

=) Haven't seen you in a while! Happy *late* b'day! =D Adrielle =) 09:54, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks lol, I heard your computer was broken, I guess I'll see you when its Fixed or something? --Lcawte 10:18, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah =(. It died and wouldn't even start up - it just got coloured squares all over the screen... I think the mother board needs replacing. It is under warranty, so I have to wait til they decide what needs fixing/replacing. They don't give an estimated time =(. I'm going crazy without it!!! lol, well crazier... hehe! OCL team

Hi! I noticed that you don't have broad rumble on Viridian yet, and I am freaking out. I haven't heard a word from two of our other team mates, and I don't know what to do. Registration closes in a few hours. If you come on and read this, I will be hanging around Viridian for as long as I can tonight. Adrielle =) 11:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Nvm =) Check your PMs on the forums when you can. I managed to get Ellenya to help us out. Adrielle =) 12:20, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
