Fact or opinion?

One of the comments in question is ypp creators charge high monthly fees for the ability to use freeware style programs such as msn messenger or trillian ("hearty list"; pay to add friends), even tho the system is made less stable than for example trillian, which is free to use. Is the point that that Puzzle Pirates is just a freeware style program similar to MSN Messenger or Trillian? Last I checked neither of those programs were MMORPGs. Unless there is proof to this statement, it will be considered opinion and changed in the article to reflect this. -- Cedarwings (talk) 08:08, 21 February 2008 (PST)

"functions"

You need to pay subscribing fees to add hearties - as in "add contact" function - I admit the statement was a bit unclear, the right word would've been "functions" not "programs". In this case players who want to chat in PP would have to pay high monthly fees (compared to Trillian's, Msn messenger's, Aim's, Yahoo Messenger's etc. free functions) to keep contact with players without using the /who command to check if they're online (makes it a lot harder after you have lots of friends). Also PP doesn't offer a big friend list, for example I couldn't fit all my msn contacts to my hearty list in pp. Therefore this statement is a fact now that the "programs" word is changed to "functions". Also.. PP is listed as a MMOG (as in massive multiplayer online game), not MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game).

I'd rephrase it to explicitely compare the contact list of Trilian with the hearty list. Kamuflaro 23:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Support

Support: As the main contributor and the owner of the inactive pirate, I want the page removed. The crew and flag had only a few people in them and never did any active pillaging. I wouldn't consider myself idleing in the cabin on sea monster hunts any sort of meaningful history to the game, and I don't want my character profile to exist anymore as I don't want anything to do with the game. As making my own pirate's page totally random doesn't seem to be against the rules of yppedia, I can continue doing that aswell, but it'd be easier for everyone if the page was removed. --Mhje 21:13, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

You're mistaken. Adding random stuff to an article can be considered vandalism. And so can removing content. --Kamuflaro 21:50, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps you'd like to explain why an admin reverted the edits and changed the page to the version that reminds me of Monkey Island's story then, as another admin considered that vandalism. Are admins vandalising my page then? ;) I think the discussion about the functions above are proof enough that this article is meaningless, as admins don't want criticism in yppedia no matter how true it'd be. I find it rather weird that so many people are opposing, considering that none of you ever chatted with the pirate or gathered any information about it, whereas I've been editing the page for years and I know every detail, I just never put up accurate information, so basically the information there was false. For example it says I've been playing since early 2005, while the pirate has only existed for two years. --Mhje 15:13, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Admins ain't perfect. Things will sort out sooner or later. And your "false information" probably was not opposed, because your alt is redirecting there and 4 years old. --Kamuflaro 16:28, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
That'd mean the site is about me as a gamer, not my pirate, and personally I want my information removed from the database. If not, I can freely quote myself, as the page is clearly about me and not my pirate. That makes me able to write whatever I want about myself, as I have the most information about myself. ;) --Mhje 17:02, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
If you want information about you removed, then start with deleting your character on the game server. As far as I can see this page is not going to be deleted and your edits are not in good faith, they are with the goal of having the page removed in mind. Just take the removal of the portrait as an example... you are removing old valid information to lower the quality of the page. --Kamuflaro 17:24, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Sadly you're missing the point. The pirate ain't me, but still the article has information about me as a gamer/person. Next thing you know, you're telling me to "remove" myself in order to get that information off. As this is a 'database' about in-game information, it shouldn't have any information about me as a person, but only of the pirate. Considering that I'm not allowed to remove information such as when I started playing the game (not when I created this character _btw_), the information will remain incorrect and inaccurate, as I'd be the only person knowing exactly what has and hasn't happened the past years. ..and the portrait was removed, because I'm not displaying one on my pirate's page. --Mhje 18:36, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Opposed

I have changed the speedy deletion to a proposed deletion as this page does not qualify for a speedy deletion. And personally, I am opposed to the deletion as this pirate is part of history on the game and thus deserves to remain. -- Cedarwings (talk) 17:40, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Oppose: The page's content seems to be totally random, because the main contributor changed it, considering it a valid edit. I oppose deletion and would like to see the content reconstructed and updated. Some extra notes and links to the crew and flag he had would be good. There is more need to clean this page up, than deleting it. --Kamuflaro 18:17, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Oppose: I agree - the character remains part of the history of the game, even after they no longer play the game. Cleaning the page up would be a better option than deleting it. Adrielle ♥ =) 21:20, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Oppose: Per above. --Lcawte 09:15, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
