Dormant Template

Are there any templates around that can be placed on a crew / player's profile page in the WIki in order to list them as dormant or inactive? Sikgamer 16:21, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Do dormant (but subscribed) pirates still provide labor? I believe they don't but It would be nice to have an official answer and a note in this page. -- Daedalus

I'm pretty sure they do. But dormant pirates are auto-fired soon after becoming dormant (it's not immediately, judging from some of my tests, but it doesn't take very long before it happens). --Thunderbird 15:04, 22 January 2006 (PST)

This is a bit of an ambiguous page anyway. After 10 days without logging in, you go dormant as in fame. By definition you also have to be dormant in the puzzles, so the only labour you can provide (up until day 14 where you are auto-fired) is tailoring, weaving, constructing, furnishing, ironworking. --Piplicus 15:07, 22 January 2006 (PST)

Ironworking has a puzzle to play now, so you would have to assume it behaves like the other crafting puzzle jobs --Aloyicious 18:26, 24 March 2009 (PST)

Does it still take 10 days to go dormant in your crew?

Seems to me that since one of the recent updates dormancy happens much more quickly, but I haven't kept specific track.

My friend didn't log on for 9 days ans isn't dormant yet. I'll tell you tomorrow if he becomes dormant!

Dormant captain

Ok, here is another question : what happened when the captain of a crew become dormant?

Explained in the politics section of Crew "If they become dormant, the politics will change if an event occurs that would post a crew issue (even if it's something that would normally be immediately bypassed such as an SO changing ranks). Also, if a dormant pirate is promoted to Captain in an Autocratic crew, the politics are immediately changed to Oligarchic" -- Vorky 06:14, 17 June 2007 (PDT)

New page/subsection

Havin' jes seen Demeter's response in greenie playground about redemption o' CD key preventin' pirate deletion, is there enough to warrant a page/subsection to this page about how to stop your pirate bein' deleted?--Vurogj 06:19, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Thank ye for mentioning Demeter's post, the CD key was an area where I was not certain wether it protected you from deletion/purging. Currently the information is gathered in the article purged, but it may get integrated in another article in the future. Putting a pointer to the info on this page will be probably a good idea too. --Alfwyn 06:48, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Dormancy affecting labor efficiency

There has been some discussion amongst the management of our shipyard whether or not dormant employees affect the labor time for completing orders. Some say that the game assigns hours to the dormant people, who being unable to work, end up wasting time that could have went to filling orders. Anyone know for sure?

Dormant flag royalty and voting

This article seems to have some inaccuracy as regards to voting flag members. Per a recent discussion on Sage's /greeter, I found out that dormant royalty still counts toward the majority needed to pass an issue. Royals don't go dormant when displayed on the flag info page. Therefore I think this article needs a little clarification. It works differently for crews, where dormant voting members do not count toward the majority. --Chupchup 20:05, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

It seems that this has changed since I wrote the above. Tilinka, Miget, and Sweetiepiepi told me that recent experience shows that dormant royals do not count in flag issue votes. See the forum thread here. Evidence to the contrary will be entertained. Chupchup 19:13, 20 January 2012 (PST)
