The crew, Knights of the Republic, was founded by Sanders in January, 2005 to collapse the flag of the same name, in preparation for the merge with flag No Homers.
History
The merge of the Knights of the Republic with the crews of No Homers gave rise to the flag Lost Legion, and the safekeeping of Endurance Island was made their responsibility. The crews of Lost Legion joined a new flag with Duckies and Six Leagues Under (amongst others) to form Heavens Aligned. After a catastrophic blockade weekend, in which Heavens Aligned attempted to conquer a third island (Lagniappe I), Gaea was lost, drama ensued, and the flag started to unravel.
Knights of the Republic left Heavens Aligned on August 30, 2005 and began their search for a new flag. After trying several flags at two-week intervals, they joined Notorious Fandango on December 6, 2005. On January 14, 2006 The Imperial Fists, who had also joined Notorious Fandango, merged into this crew. After several months of greevil, the Knights left Notorious Fandango on July 23, 2006, joining Lost In Translation.

Public Statement
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....
The flag Knights of the Republic were a prosperous bunch, filled with many the jolly crew who pillaged regularly as mates. The flag had common goals and worked well together, but alas the flag was not to be. As a solution, the brave sea-faring population combined into one crew. The common goals still exist, and all mates were together always. In honor of their old flag, they named the crew after the fallen flag....
We are an established crew who enjoys pillaging and causing chaos with our crew and flagmates while still being a friendly, fun bunch to be around. Promotions are given out for several reasons. New players who join will be given the rank of Cabin Person. Once you subscribe, you will be promoted to Pirate. Once you are found to be a responsible, worthy mate, Officer Training may be given followed by the promotion after you have proven you have what it takes.
As we are a generally laid-back, fun crew, we have only a few rules for jobbers.
- Be respectful to others.
- Follow orders.
- Do not leave the ship during battle. Ever. If there is a reason you have to leave, politely notify the commanding officer aboard before leaving.
- Team in battle. If you do not know what this means, ask about it when you go aboard the ship. Teaming is essential to PoE making.
