The fish is one of fifteen bludgeon types used in rumbling. On subscription oceans, this bludgeon may only be used by subscribers.

Unlike most bludgeons, it cannot be purchased at shipyards. Instead, fish are acquired by being aboard a ship when it sinks. The player must stay aboard until he or she receives the message, "The ship has been sunk!" (Note that pirates receiving an injury will not receive a fish at the same time.)

The fish is thought to be intended as a punishment, not an award (similar to injuries), therefore it has a below-average pattern. The sprinkle colors will meld across the majority of the board, causing larger than average sprinkle-based returns.

Additionally, the strike pattern includes pre-charged balls, resulting in more steps of the return strike attack combo that the opponent can send. However, if your opponent does not receive either of the two colors needed to clear the entire board, a fish can be potentially brutal based on luck.
