Disbandment

Disbandment is a term that refers to the irreversible deletion of a crew or flag. The "disband crew" and "disband flag" buttons can be found at the bottom of the respective info pages. A player must be eligible to vote in crew politics before they can propose that a crew should disband. Similarly, a player must be royalty or a monarch in order to propose disbandment of the flag.

• When a crew disbands, all members become independent. They lose any crew title that had been bestowed upon them, and also any flag affiliation and flag rank they may have had. Assets such as crew halls are lost forever, as are ships with no owners.
• When a flag disbands, all pirates lose their flag affiliation and any position they held in the flag. Flag halls are lost forever.

Historical notes

• Before shanghais were removed from the game and replaced with rogue marks, they would also be lost upon disbanding a crew.
