Adding Images
I am trying to add this:
Combos
The best bilgers can create combos that clear more than three pieces. Clearing four or five pieces offers a slight bonus, but one should try to aim for clearing more than one column or row with one move. There are different messages for each combo:
- Good - 4 in a row
- Great - 5 in a row
- Arrr! - 3x3 or 3x5
- Har! - 4x4
- Yarrr! - Ax5
- Bingo! - AxBxC
- Sea Donkey! - 3x3x3x3, 3x3x3x4, or 3x3x4x4
- Vegas! - AxBxCx5
But when I add it, it doesn't put the image under each line of text, also it seems the double is not being thumbed. I plan on making images for the rest of the combos listed as well.
- They were all thumbed at 180px horizontally, with no regard to the vertical orientation. I halved the horizontal resolution on the double in this example. --Thunderbird 11:37, 16 November 2005 (PST)
- Ooooo those are nice images, Jack. Thanks! If possible, it could be good to indicate the swapping pair for those who are particularly bad at bilging. :) The list needs either clearing breaks or a big table to avoid the loopy formatting that comes from all the images wanting to be at the left. (If you'd rather someone else fool around with the formatting, I'd be glad to take a stab at it for you - just let me know.) --Guppymomma 12:41, 16 November 2005 (PST)
I'll supply the images, you do the formatting then. :-) --Jacktheblack 17:07, 16 November 2005 (PST) PS is thier a way to automaticly throw in the date, or should I just keep typing it out?
- re "PS is thier a way to automaticly throw in the date, or should I just keep typing it out?", yes, there is. Just do ~~~~ for your name + date and time. I really do like the images, too.--Gloraelin 21:08, 16 November 2005 (PST)
Discussion of Tips
I'm not sure if I am putting this in the correct place.
I don't think it is accurate to tell people to avoid 3x1s (especially at lower levels). Even at higher levels of bilge, a 3x1 is almost neutral. You wouldn't want to fill your whole score queue with 3x1s, but if you are sparkly, you could do several of them before it would drop your sparkle.
Also, I think a 2 move 5x1 is similar. My guess is that it is efficent somewhere between 1-2 moves for a 4x1 or a 5x1. This one would be harder to test because you are unlikely to fill a scoring queue with 4x1s or 5x1s. --Dolem
