[hide]A Pirate's Life for me - The History of Cutthroatale
Cutthroatale, or Cutt, as she's know by all flag and crew members, joined Puzzle Pirates summer of 2005, as the result of convincing by her friend in real life (Whoanelly in Neptune Pirates). She ended up shipwrecked on Viridian, and was forced to bilge and swordfight for her pride, like the rest of the greenies at that time.
She instantly became addicted to the game, not to the extent she is these days, but addicted nonetheless. Cutthroatale quickly learned to sail (which remains her favorite favorite puzzle to this day) and do the rest of the puzzles. She joined her first crew in July 2005, Rolling Thunder, but as those who know Cutt well would understand, she left the crew because she didn't like how she didn't know anyone. Cutthroatale then joined Heaven nor Hell, but as she still didn't know anyone, she left that crew rather quickly as well.
Then school started up in September 2005 and Cutthroatale quit for a while, and thus her pirate was deleted. She rejoined PP again in June 2006 and jobbed around a while as a pompous greenie because she was getting excellents, which is not common for greenies. One day she was jobbed by a crew she hadn't heard of, Ducha De Oro (DDO). Barrnacle, then captain of DDO, convinced her into joining up with them. It was just going to be a stopping point on the way back the crew she had joined before her pirate got deleted, but as she tells everyone these days, she doesn't even remember that old crew's name.
She quickly adapted to this new crew, growing to love it more each and every day. She was promoted to officer by Tomster, immediately after she gained the three required solids. At first she resisted the promotion as she didn't feel worthy, but Barr was adament that she should keep the position. It was at that point that she met Wretch, then first mate, now ex-captain of DDO for the first time (she almost asked Barr to plank him on that fated day), and it was also at that time that she got her first title, Damsel of DDO. She wanted to learn to battle-nav before she became an officer, so she once again tried to demote herself, again failing miserably. Skullbreaker (now Skullcrasher) and Tomster immediately began to fight over her, trying to teach her to be a proper officer, claiming she was their protege.
Then Mazhina stole from the crew, Barr had to take his break because of real life problems, Wretch's gametime reduced, and DDO began to fall apart, the arguments between Skullbreaker and Tomster reaching their peak. She was inconsolable. It was at that point that she began to develop her full addiction. She put her heart and soul into the crew, and just barely kept everything together, along with the help from many many other people. Sometime during then she was promoted to fleet officer.
Finally, Wretch came back, and Cutt was promoted to senior officer. Things seemed to settle down at that point. Right when things seemed to be going well, however (she even said to Biz, one of her best friends, that day, "I think it's going to be a good day today, and things are going to totally settle down.") the flag almost disbanded. She panicked, and called a flag meeting among officers, and was thrilled when Stevesevere (then monarch of Nanuq) signed on and listened what the flag officers had to say, and instead of disbanding the flag, made it a democracy for a period of time. Things again settled down. Cutt was made princess of the flag but didn't feel ready, so she tried to shove her title off on Biz when she left for Hawaii, but ultimately the crew had a vote and Tweetytatz won the royalty title.
Then she came back from Hawaii, and trouble with Tomster had flaired up while she was gone. He was banned from the crew, although he resisted the ban and created many alts, having Handsomesam join him into the crew every other day.
She left DDO once for a very trying and difficult period of 3 hours. She was attempting to keep the crew from having more conflicts when she left, but the whole problem turned out to be a huge misunderstanding, and she gladly rejoined afterwards. She demoted herself to Cabin Person (and pineapple) but was then given the title of Counselor of DDO, and repromoted to SO.
During the period when the flag was a democracy, she was elected monarch for a period of 3 months. So she is an ex-queen of Nanuq.
The Cutt of Today
Cutt really hasn't changed much since the day she joined as a pirate of the feared DDO. She continues to love and adore her crew and her flag, and loves watching the pirates around her grow and surpass her in skill. She is now co-captain of Ducha De Oro.
Most of the crew and flag seem to love Cutt as much as she loves them, although they tend to get annoyed at her when it comes to some of her flaws. Cutt is a notorious multitasker, and thus is generally carrying on three conversations at once, while trying to gun, sail, and bilge simultaneously. Officers in Charge (OICs) hate the fact that she's always talking while she's sfing, rumbling, or doing any of the other duties, but that's just part of Cutt's personality. She does suffer from the occasional puzzle vision, it's never too bad a case. She is known to be a docktart from time to time, and is almost always a stattart.
One of the most amusing things about Cutt is her propensitiy towards making up words by adding random endings to them. For instance:
- Stevesevere tells you, "im probably the only person you know twisted enough to waste my time with something like this."
- You told Stevesevere, "nah."
- You told Stevesevere, "you underestimate my twistedness"
- You told Stevesevere, "i could out twist-i-fy you any day of the week."
Adding i-fy to any word is a pretty common Cutt thing to do. She's also known to make up names for people in the crew, and the names tend to stick for the whole crew. For instance, former captain of Ducha De Oro, Johnkeelhaul is now known as "J-hon" thanks to Cutt.
She is also known to call anyone and everyone by all sorts of endearing names. Most commonly used are, "honey", "hun", "hon", "dear", "sweety", "sweetheart", "love", "sweets" and "snookums". It doesn't matter whether you've known her for 5 minutes or 2 years, she'll still call you by these terms. She gets really easily attached to people.
Rumor has it that, at one point, Scarletnite, Ultimus, J-hon, and Cutt all went to the same college. Scar was Cutt's roomate, and Ultimus and J-hon live beneath them and that Cutt periodically stops by Eelizabeth's house and is married to Ruqayyah... but the story has since been proven wrong.
All except for the part about her being married to Ruq. That, of course, is true.
And just as a note, she thinks Steve is god :).
