Omgwtf

Omgwtf (Paul Weber) is a rising poker phenomenon who plays high stakes No-Limit Hold ‘em mainly on the Viridian ocean. He has also been spotted doing ridiculously high wagers in sword fighting, some even over 500,000 PoE

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Omgwtf is 17 years old and currently lives in Millbrook, Massachusetts. At the age of 4, he first fell in love with the game of poker when he watched his 4 uncles play a game of No-Limit Hold ‘em for Nickles & Dimes. He would play poker frequently on his Playstation 2 and would also watch WSOP (World Series of Poker) coverage on ESPN in his free time. When Omgwtf was 13 years of age, he discovered a small group of people who played poker with blinds of 50 cent and 1 dollar.

"Well it was my first real game with money, and I gotta tell ya, either I was some poker prodigy or those kids just sucked... I think I made around $300 in about an hour, yea something like that."

Years later it became very clear that indeed Omgwtf was some sort of poker genius, as he would play many games of poker with $2/$4 blinds with people who were of the legal age, and often times he would walk away with a wad of hundred dollars bills stuffed in his pocket, which according to him would later be discovered by his mom or dad in the middle of the night.

"She was never mad about it, just concerned, she knew that at anytime I could go on a losing streak and come home one day with nothing. And she always told me the most important thing is to have fun, I mean I was 13 years old and already I was making enough money to support a family of three."

Everything seemed to be going well for the young poker player, until two years later when he realized what losing was all about.

"His name was Ike Thompson, he was a college kid home for the summer, and let me tell you that kid could play cards..."

Paul and Ike sat down at a pool table in a friend's basement, and with about 30 speculators they began playing what would later be determined as the largest underground poker game ever recorded in Millbrook, Massachusetts.

"The blinds were 5 and 10, after about 30 minutes I was up about 500 dollars, I thought I was invincible, then in one hand I just lost everything..."

"Ike had duces and I had rockets, the flop came out a rainbow (2 3 A). I wasn't thinking about losing this hand, I was only thinking about the maximum money I could possibly get from him."

"Another duce dropped on the turn, and then a meaningless river fell, it didn't even occur to me he could be holding the nuts.. I went all in on the river and he called immediately, he turned over one duce and then he turned over another... I don't really remember what happened after that. I ended up losing $1,500 that night, which was nearly half of everything I had earned."

It took Omgwtf two more years to make back what he had lost. He currently plays online poker at Pokerstars.net.

THE OMGWTF CHALLENGE

Around 11 p.m. game time on July 9th, 2009.. Omgwtf announced to the poker world (of puzzlepirates) that he wants to prove he is the greatest poker player alive today.

THE RULES • Heads up - No-Limit Hold ‘em • 1,000/2,000 blinds • 4 tables at a time • 50,000 hands • Once the stakes have been decided upon, they must stay the same for the entire challenge • Players must reload if their stack falls below 75 big blinds at any time

After 50,000 hands if Omgwtf has won more money, he keeps the winnings, if he loses he will give his opponent an additional 1.5 million PoE even if he is ahead by only 1 PoE

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Not too long after this challenge was announced, a player accepted it.. the legendary Tianx (POEker Brat) has offered to play. When asked why, he said, "Because I have balls, something my opponent does not".

UPDATE

Very early on July 11th, 2009... Silvermask accepted the "Omgwtf Challenge". When asked how he felt about it, he replied, "I am going to win, because I'm winner, and I like to win, I have no doubt in my mind that I will not win."

The challenge status will be posted on the Viridian Parley when it begins
