Gretchen Goldfang is one of the original five Brigand Kings introduced to the game in April 2006. Like most brigand kings, she can be fought in either a swordfight or rumble.

Gretchen Goldfang is captain of the crew Evil Eye and queen of the flag Jinx on all oceans except Opal. On the Opal Ocean she is captain of the crew Das böse Auge and queen of the flag Der Fluch.

Note: While there have been posts in the forum done under the guise of the Brigand Kings, these are unofficial postings made by players that are not Ocean Masters or any other Three Rings staff and are not approved.

In battle

Gretchen's male swabbies wear turbans. The female swabbies wear scarves. All have gold rings on their hats.

Engagement chants: Hide your treasure! The ruthless pirate, Gretchen the Goldfang is headed your way! Gretchen Goldfang says, "I thought I smelled treasure in the air... To your stations! I can almost taste their precious gold already!" Disengagement chant: Gretchen Goldfang says, "Escape, will you? No matter, the stink of treasure will be all over you soon enough - and then so will I once more!" Gretchen Goldfang says, "Even these fangs can only gnaw on a bone before they tire. Next time try not to be so boring." Grappling chant: Gretchen Goldfang says, "Show no mercy and their riches are ours!" Death chant: Gretchen Goldfang says, "The filthy rats have overwhelmed me! Exterminate these vermin!" Defeat chants: Gretchen Goldfang says, "No! To your knees men! Search every plank about the deck, I think I've lost a tooth in the fray!" Gretchen Goldfang says, "Very well, I shall give each of yer dedicated hands one <''Insert trinket name''> in ransom for my release." Victory chant: Gretchen Goldfang says, "See this golden smile, feeble pirate? You just helped make it bigger! Ha ha ha!"

Island News:

• This island is now controlled by Gretchen Goldfang, the possessor of the most radiant smile on the seas. New resident are required to present themselves to the queen so that they may bask in her gleaming grin.

Palace News:

• All eights must be deposited in the palace vault immediately. Tis for yer safety. There are dangerous pirates about!
  
  To retrieve your eights, simply present a chunk of frozen hellfire, a hair from Azarbad's beard and the Widow Queen's eyepatch to the accounts manager. WARNING: attempting to remove eights from Gretchen's coffer without satisfying the aforementioned criteria may result in the loss of limbs. SHE BITES!

Shop News:

• All work now contributes to further gilding the already glorious incisors of your ruler, Gretchen Goldfang, any labourers displaying slothful work habits will soon find that my bite is far worse than my bark. However, avarice is perfectly acceptable. Now WORK YE LUBBERS!
