Subscriber
Subscribers are players who have bought a subscription (either a regular one or through the boxed set) to play on one of the Puzzle Pirates subscription oceans, Midnight or Cobalt.
Players who have not yet subscribed cannot:
- Be promoted beyond the rank of cabin person
- Create new crews
- Forage
- Take a job at a shoppe
- Use many types of clothing or sword
- Play most of the land-based puzzles, except on particular days

Notes
Please note that this also means that non-subscribers may buy ships, but not run them, as they need to be an officer or above to do so. They are able to buy commodities, but are unable to use them. They will not be able to wear shoes. Non-subscribers will need to be ordered to gun and do the navigation puzzle if the commanding officer wants them to do that puzzle. This also means that they will not be able to use bid tickets since only officers and above are able to view the market tabs on ships. Strangely enough, non-subscribers are able to open up stalls and have access to market tabs through that route.
