Introduction
The Injury, funny thing. No matter how many 'Pieces of Eight' you have, how many ships in your fleet, or how brimming with Black/Gold Clothes your wardrobe is, you just cannot buy an Injury. That is, unless you enter Sinkfest! Vulpes Vafrae, and Captain Domokun present a 30 ship sinking event on the Sage Ocean, giving you 30 chances to obtain an injury.

- So, how does it work?
30 Ships, 30 Sinks. On 31th March 2007, at 10pm GMT (2pm Game Time), Vulpes Vafrae will be entering 30 War Brigs into a sinking Blockade at Cromwell Island. We will be taking 29 lucky Pirates down to the deep, all in the name of fun, fish and loss of limbs. There is no need for you to join our Crew, or leave your own, all you need is to be on the ship when it sinks!
- Great! How do I get a place in the Event?
Its easy: Donate a War Brig and 3000poe to the Event! All the donated War Brigs will be sunk, and the 3000poe will fund the final War Brig, Rum, Stock and other expenses. Vulpes Vafrae would like to run this event on a regular basis, and so we ask for the cost of Rum, stock and Cannonballs to be covered by participants. There is significant time and PoE involved in floating 29 War Brigs across the Ocean! However, This event is NOT run for profit.

Well, don't forget you will also receive 30 random coloured fish, the Driftwood Trophy, and on the last sink, we will try to stay on the blockade board long enough for some of you to earn the Battered Hat Trophy too!
- Alright, great! How do I apply?
Its easy. First, read this post in full, and then read it again. Make sure you understand the Term's and Conditions. Next, the first 29 pirates to pass me a War Brig deed and 3000poe in game get a spot in the event! This thread will continually be updated with details, as well as clarification on questions from other Pirates. You may reserve a place with a post in this thread, but if I am offered 29 deeds in game before you find either me or Burg, your reservation will be discarded for obvious reasons.
The ships will enter a blockade on Cromwell Island and be sunk one after the other by a waiting War Brig. All 30 players will sink 30 times, which according to this thread or this post gives between a 40-60% chance of an injury (thankies to Rexie for the Math!). In that particular event, one lucky pirate recieved all 3 injuries after just 16 sinks!
If you have any questions, feel free to post them in this thread, or PM me. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, we would like to hold this event semi-regularly, so please help make this first Sinkfest a success.

Terms and Conditions
Please read the Terms carefully. This event involves a considerable amount of PoE and a Fleet of ships, so we have to be strict on the policies. We have tried to cover all all possible problems, but feel free to post or PM if you have a comment or a question. Please consider taking part, and making this Event a fantastic success so we may run another in the future. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or talk to me in game.
These terms may be strict, but they only apply to Pirates who wish to leave the Event. If you are confident that you will be online on 31st March, then you have nothing to worry about.
- Upon the transfer of the deed to Vulpes, it is no longer your property. We will not risk 28 pirates pulling out of this event last minute, and the event being ruined. Your 3000poe fee will be returned if you need to forfeit your place, provided you give more than a weeks notice. Any less than a week and nothing will be returned. Please do not let this put you off this event, but also please only pass your deed if you are certain you will be available for the day of the blockade. If there is another Pirate who can pass me a deed and 3000 poe then I will return your ship and poe to you, again, provided you give a weeks notice minimum. Please note there will be no partial refunds, even if you are lucky enough to receive an injury in the first sink. I will try to be concious of everyones needs, but the Event comes first.
- Should a place become available through the above procedure, Vulpes Vafrae reserve the right to auction, sell, distribute, or otherwise trash places in Sinkfest. Unofficial auctions or resale of places in the Event will not be supported. Anyone attempting to sell or buy places on Sink Fest in an unofficial auction will be excluded from this event. Any queries regarding this policy should be directed in a PM to me. Vulpes Vafrae will not be held responsible for disconnects.
- If you obtain an injury, and wish to try again with an alt for the remainder of the event, please inform Burg or Domokun, and we will job your alt during the event, and dismiss your main Pirate. Please note that we cannot guarentee you an injury. Please do not bother the OM's if you are unlucky. We will run this event again at a later date for a second try, provided it is a success!
