The speed meter on a ship shows how fast the ship is going. Performing the sailing puzzle increases the speed, but a large amount of bilge water limits how fast a ship can go. But to get the bilge water down, you need the damege down.
When the speed meter is entirely yellow, it will take approximately 70 seconds to travel a diagonal league, and 100 seconds to travel a horizontal league.
