[hide]History
Captain Riven (a named used prior to the advent of the “Myst” sequel) founded the crew, Rip Torn, October 28, 2005, and the crew joined the Flag The Black Sheep 4 days later. The name was changed to Torn in September, 2006 to better reflect the crew direction and avoid confusion with the comedian.
Torn celebrated its 1st birthday on October 28, 2006 (Torn Birthday Party) by hosting a pill-a-thon, gaming tourneys and a Treasure Ship cruise. Prizes given away for the events included a war brig, cutter, and sloop, various parlor game paraphernalia, and awards for those sailors scoring “Incredible” at league points during the cruise. The big day ended with a crew-colors costume contest and group portrait for the crew page.
Crew Colors
Our Captain sports apparel of Orange and Lime. Sea-going sailors wear Blue and Lime and land-based merchant crew members wear the colors Violet and Lime.

Public Statment
Welcome to a rising crew here in the Cobalt Ocean. Hopefully you're joining, or jobbing, because you like having fun, but also earning lots of booty. The best way to accomplish both these things is to act as a closely-knit team. The team leaders (the senior officers) have earned their positions by virtue of demonstrating competence and leadership, so please listen to them.
A word on successful pillaging. Do not leave a ship during battle, or right before battle starts. This seriously hinders the remaining team members' ability to win through. Also, team during a swordfight (SF) or rumble.
