Prestige and PoE/Duty nav race

Duty nav race

4 prestige points for Prestige and PoE will be awarded in a duty nav race happening on August 5 or 6. The format for the race will be similar to this one. It is a double elimination cutter race. Each flag must supply their own stocked cutter ported at Midsummer and a navver's assistant. During each heat, you will sail between Olivia and Midsummer, navving the entire time. You must leave two swabbies on sails, one on bilge, and your assistant will carp. There will also be a greenie judge on board to monitor the ship. PvP is not allowed and brigands will be disabled for the race route. The winner of the race will receive a sloop, a fancy ribbon, and 4 prestige points for their flag.

Event day and time

The exact day and time of the race will be voted on by the flags who have registered for the event. The choices are: Aug 5, 10 AM Pirate Time; Aug 5, 4 PM Pirate Time; Aug 6, 10 AM Pirate Time; or Aug 6, 4 PM Pirate Time. The day and time will be chosen through Instant-runoff voting, which means each flag must rank each time slot from most to least preferred. To vote for a time, please add a line to the table below by copying the sample and changing the fields. All votes must be cast by July 30.

Flag champions

Each registered flag may choose a flag champion to compete in the race. Specify your flag champion by adding a line to the table below by copying the sample and changing the fields. You must select your flag champion by August 4. They will be jobbed into the event crew 20 minutes prior to the start of the race.
