the "Preview" button

Ahoy! Noticed you've been making a considerable number of updates to Classie. In case you didn't already know, making many updates to the same article tends to "drown out" the "Recent changes" tool, which is linked in the "Navigation" toolbar to the left of your screen. (I should know -- I've been chastised for doing this myself.) To help you profit from my own past experiences, I thought I should let you know about the "Preview" option.

When you are editing an article, you can click on the "Show Preview" button to see what your changes will look like. Then, once you've made the changes you want, then you can click on the "Save Page" button to commit your changes.

Hope this helps!   ;-)   And welcome to the Yppedia. -- Franklincain (t/c) 19:26, 15 July 2013 (PDT)

Much Appreciated

Ahoy! Ah, you noticed my rookie ways, did ye? How embarrassing. I'm used to HTML format and codes, and the wiki format is anything but familiar to me, so your editing and careful eye is more than appreciated, Franklincain. I was aware of the preview button, but wasn't aware that my saved changes were linked to the feeds in the "Navigation" toolbar - therefore I chose to ignore the preview button altogether - as you saw. I can understand the frustration that must have caused, and I'm sorry for my ignorance in that matter and that it drowned out other important information. On the plus side; I know now; and I have you to thank. x]

So; Thank you.

If you don't mind my asking - what is the appropriate way to respond to this message? I didn't seem to see a "reply" button... ;P

Just use the "Edit" link, and then start typing your response. It's just like typing any other page in a wiki.
If it helps, you can always experiment in a sandbox (by convention, yours would be this link), to learn more about how wiki-code works. And you can always ask questions by posting in the Yppedia newsgroup at the forums. We're always happy to have new editors here.
Also, you may have noticed most of these messages in the various "Talk" pages have signatures and dates. You can do this by typing four tildes (i.e.: "~~~~") in a row at the end of your message, and the wiki automatically converts it to a date-time stamp with your signature when you click on "Save Page". And again, welcome aboard! -- Franklincain (t/c) 19:40, 16 July 2013 (PDT)
Thank you for the welcome! This information has been insightful; I enjoy learning new useful things and will one day help somebody in turn like you did for me. Rawkpiratess 12:51, 17 July 2013 (PDT)
