Daylight Savings Time

Does Pirate Time shift with Daylight Savings Time? --Barrister 10:36, 11 August 2005 (PDT)

I think it does, but I'm sure an OM or dev could confirm that. – Yaten talk 11:03, 11 August 2005 (PDT)
I'm pretty sure it does. And can I just take a moment to complain about how bitter I will be at having to undo the automatic DST changes on my electronic gadgets due to the energy bill's change of DST? Bah! --Guppymomma 11:06, 11 August 2005 (PDT)
Pirate time does follow Daylight Saving Time, just like the Pacific Standard Time zone. The "standard" in the time zone name refers to the standardization of the zones, not the time itself. Even during Daylight Saving, the timezone itself is apparently still Pacific Standard, while the time there is designated as PDT. Yes, it's confusing as hell...I'm half-tempted to just put "Pacific Time Zone" in the article, despite its technical inaccuracy. --AtteSmythe 09:48, 8 September 2005 (PDT)

I don't think we should be codifying the usage of "GT" into the article as it is a confusing, ambiguous notation, whereas "Pirate Time" abbreviates easily to "PT" which is the official timezone abbreviation for "Pacific Time". Redirects to here are OK but I question the wisdom of "accepting" the confusing usage. Chupchup 07:21, 31 May 2013 (PDT)

Not entirely sure why "GT" is any more ambiguous than "PT". Are we confused because it sounds like GMT? "Game time" and "GT" are certainly in common usage, though. --Belthazar451 16:06, 31 May 2013 (PDT)

Events

(Following up on Belthazar's change regarding "!" in link)

The wiki actually has two separate articles at this time, each covering a separate subject: "event" (events in general) vs. "Events!" (the ocean-specific "Events!" sections within the forums). -- Franklincain (t/c)

Aye, I did happen to notice that. Decided that event was the better page to link to in any case - it's events that are run on Pirate Time, not the Events! board - and they're both almost half a decade out-of-date anyway, so it's kind of academic. Incidentally, the ocean-specific event boards don't have the excalamtion mark, only the all-oceans board. --Belthazar451 18:03, 31 May 2013 (PDT)
