tokens

Hmm - I already added this info to Blockade... --Sagacious (talk) 15:27, 22 November 2006 (PST)

We at least need a page with information concerning solely the tokens. There will be more than is appropriate for the blockade page, though they surely need inclusion there (in the gameplay part). I can imagine quite a bit that shouldn't go there, such as how symbols per station for each ship size are needed to earn the token. --Cedricshock talk 11:20, 24 November 2006 (PST)

Extra line break

The extra line break in the table doesn't work well when you change the width of your browser. I wind up with text that looks like:

Chain and skull shots fired from a large cannon
cause
greater token loss than if fired from a small
cannon.

That's not visually appealing. What's wrong with letting the table wrap the text naturally? --Barrister 03:57, 25 November

It appears to take up a large amount of space on the article when you have a resolution like mine, leaving lots of whitespace below. If it's just me being funny then feel free to remove the breaks. --Sagacious (talk) 07:47, 25 November 2006 (PST)

Move?

Since the official documents refer to these as "maneuvers" should we move the page?--Fiddler 19:02, 25 January 2007 (PST)

Indeed :-) --Sagacious (talk) 02:20, 26 January 2007 (PST)

Requirements?

Getting over "Good" is not the only requirement to get special pieces. With a recently created character was unable to get special tokens, even with i.e. sparkly bilge pump. Not sure if standing must be over able or if certain experience is required too. Narrow/able in bilge didnt gave tokens, but narrow/respected in sails did.

New trophies

Should the new trophies (oaken token, seal, etc.) be added here or in the main blockade article? I think they are more related to maneuvers than blockade. --Cecidrake 10:50, 9 April 2007 (PDT)

Duty reports

I believe the tokens generated are now by segment, not by entire blockade round. Can someone verify this? --Emerson 15:19, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

Atlantis and Flotillas?

Shouldn't it be added that maneuvers can also be generated at Atlantis runs and Flotilla attacks?--ALF71BE 19:13, 16 December 2007 (PST)

Tokens earned/not earned if ship is left (Duty Reports)

Concerning this: "(verify) (switching boats might reset it, leaving and re-entering board doesn't)" I can verify that if you go off the boat, it will not reset your tokens, they count towards your trophies and towards ship as soon as you get them, verified by OM, can get piccy.--Pingster 18:29, 9 June 2009 (GMT)

Incomplete table

I'm not sure, but shouldn't the incomplete table for 'Tokens Per Maneuver' be remove? I don't see any point of having it if it's incomplete. Furthermore, I doubt you could get specific data for it. It has been incomplete for a long while now. --Yaypuzzlez 06:01, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, I think the existing data is useful and should be kept. But I see no point in having a big table that is mostly empty, so I removed the entries without any data. If someone actually collects data for the bigger ships he can add those entries again. --Alfwyn 14:08, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

The 'Token of Bilge' is missing, as well as all rigging token trophies.

MB takes 4 Thrall tokens for Silver, 8 total for Gold MG takes 5 thrall tokens for Silver, 10 total for Gold

The MG also has a thrall cap limit. of 24 Thralls, anything over 24 gets tossed over.

Stub

I think there is a fair argument to remove the stub tag from this article... Jlh0605 23:45, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Questions about the tokens and the pirates who earn them

I have three questions, two about the rules and one about tactics. If any of this information is available, it would be great if someone would add it to the article.

1. Is the pirate's duty report (Fine, Good, etc.) based entirely on the usual criteria, with the earning of tokens reflected only in the additional icons under the word?

2. If so, does earning tokens affect the pirate's pay under a Performance or Elite pay scheme? I was just in a blockade and it appeared to me that, as the blockade pay article states, all ratings of a certain level earned the same pay, regardless of the tokens, but my observation wasn't definitive.

3. What advice should be given about the tradeoff between earning tokens and maximizing performance under the regular criteria for that duty? For example, at bilging, how many otherwise unproductive moves is it worth spending to bring the two token pieces together?

Thanks for any help! Gascony 16:52, 1 October 2011 (PDT)

1. Yes 2. 95% sure no 3. In bilging, try to limit it to one move here or there, maybe two if it nets a clear, since moves cost so much. Carpentry, try saving the 3/4 maneuver pieces if you're aiming for one in particular (until you find a matching quarter), since they seem rarer and easier to match, and take any you see that are easy, but try to not stick out into the hole too much. Sailing, if you find you can use a piece different places, but one has a token possibility, use ones that don't match in the other places first. If you get doubles with tokens on them, either clear out boxes to give yourself play room (almost necessary at 7-9 stars) or, preferably for both score and token count, set them to clear after or during your combo. Token Rigging, I can't talk about as I haven't really tried much. In general you want to pick up the easy ones rather than going out of your way, because it hurts your score, which will eventually put you back below the point required to generate the maneuver pieces in the first place. Occasionally you will want to, for the good of the ship, rush out a token or two, but generally it's not worthwhile, as sailing and carpentry reward patience doubly for tokens.
