Featured article: Atlantis

Atlantis outposts are the site of one type of Sea Monster Hunt available to players and can only be reached by using a chart. Charts to Atlantean outposts can be won from skellies or zombies and can also be won from a black box.

Atlantis is home to three types of sea monsters: triketos, archelon, and gorgonyx, which come in various strengths. After sinking a monster, a player ship can haul the resulting spots for PoE and chests.

Ships can also raid citadels for additional treasure. Once inside the citadel, the crew is challenged by a force of dragoons that equals the number of pirates on board the ship. When the fray is over, win or lose, the citadel sinks beneath the waves, leaving the ship once again vulnerable to the waiting sea monsters. If the player ship is successful in winning the fray, the ship is awarded a number of chests.

Chests hold the true treasure of Atlantis including furniture, rare trinkets, and clothing in a new Atlantean color and can only be opened if the ship returns to port. The top prize possible from a chest is an ippolito, a familiar only available from Atlantis chests.

Pirates in Atlantis also have to defend their ship from dragoons that board the ship and attempt to sabotage it. Dragoons can be repelled by successfully winning a swordfighting fray against them, either 1v1 or multiplayer. Swordfighting with dragoons differs from a normal sword fight due to the addition of an aqua trident piece. If enough dragoons come aboard, the entire crew is dragged into the fray, where defeat means losing the ship.
